ALLEN WILLIAM LAHTINEN Cop ond Gown Committee Al was born in Chicago on September 9, l938. After grad- uating from Allendale Grammar School, he decided to enter the School of Champions . During his four busy years at Lane, im-uch of his time was devoted to the Indian Dancers' Club. For Al it was an honor and a pleasure to represent Lane at the various high schools, TLV, programs, and school activities. AI also had many other interests, however, and served as Vice-President of the Ushers Club and of LUFTOA. He participated in l.M. Baseball, Basketball, and Hallguards, and was ci Smith-Hughes Auto Shop student. Upon graduation Al plans to further his education. ROBERT D. CHRISTIAN Student Service Committee Bob come to Lane from St. Alphonsus Grammar School. While at Lane he spent a busy four years on the hallguards and Student Council. He was also a Smith Hughes Print Shop student and a member of the Robot and Apache Powerhouse Clubs. After graduation he plans to go to Wright Junior College, where he will study electronics. V' stitute of Prom Committee l CHARLES TRIPHAHN Charles was born on October 30 I939 He attended the I Smyser Grammar School and graduated from there in i953 , Upon entering Lane he joined the Football Team por ticipating two, years in this sport ln his third year he was a Student Council Representative Intramural Manager and was inducted into the Key Club Five months later he was elected to the office of governor of the Key Clubs of Illinois and Eastern Iowa District of Key Club International He join ed the Honor Society in 4A and hopes to gain entrance to Finance Committee STANLEY SAJDERA Stan came to Lane in September i953 He joined the Concert Band and was his division representative to the Stu dent Council in his very first semester Later he gained mem lt-ership to the Symphony Orchestra and the Military Band ol' which he became Drum Major while holding a Captain s commission. . lint , 1 ROBERT SIGNA Gift Committee In September of l953, after attending Stewart Grammar school, Bob entered Lane. ln his first year Bob joined several organization. Among them were the Chorus, Bowling Club, and Slide Rule Club. Through the four years at Lane Bob be- came the treasurer of the Key Club, and a member of the Honor Society and Honors classes. After graduation from Lane Bob plans on going to college to study engineering. ANDREW H. WALKOWIAK JR. Alumni Committee Andrew was born in Chicago on September 13, 1939, It had always been one of Andrew's ambition to attend the larg- est technical high school, in Chicago, Lane Tech. After grad- uation from St. Hedwig Grammar School in June of '53 he en- tered the School of Champions . While at Lane he became an l.M. manager and partici- pated in other extracurricular activities such Es Hallguard, Litho Club, Boat Club, and Traffic Engineering, Because And- rew was interested in machines, he consequently took the Smith Hughes Machine Shop Course, hoping some day to be- come a skilled machinist. COMMITTEE CHAIRMEN HARRY CRANDALL Arrangements Committee Harry, who was born in Chicago, entered Lane an un- witting Freshie , after graduating from Bad Axe Grammar School in Bad Axe, Michigan. While at Lane Harry's interests were mary. I-ic was Q member of the Student Council and be- came a Council officer in his Senior year. He was a member of the Marching and Concert Bands, National Honor Society, and LUFTOA. He participated in the Honor Classes and in Intramural Sports, and was president of the Lane Esquires Hi-Y Club. r-larry will continue his education upon graduation. CARL LANTZ Publicity Chairman Carl was born in Chicago on June 29, l939. He attended Pierce and Coonley Grammar Schools. After graduation from Coonley in June, l953, he entered Lane the following semes- ter During the time he was at Lane he was active in the Slide Rule, Radio, Model Railroad, Air Conditioning, and Camera Clubs. ln other activities Carl was a member of the National Honor Society and Commander of both Color Guard and the Crack Drill Platoon. engineering. National Honor Society. EDMUND J. JACOBS Pin and Ring Committee Edward was born in Chicago on August 3, 1939. He grad- usted from St. Timothy Grammar School and entered Lane in September, 1953. At Lane he was on the Varsity Basketball Team during his Junior and Senior years. He was a member of the Key Club, Student Council, National Honor Society, Super Honor Roll,Honors Classes, Latin Club and Lettermen's Club. He was also active in l.M. Sports and Hallguards. Upon graduation he intends to major in engineering. DAVE THOMPSON Biography Committee Dave was born on March 13, 1940, at Ullin, Illinois, and graduated from Clinton Elementary School in 1953. He en- tered Lane in September of that year. During his four years here he has joined and participated in many activities. A member of the swimming team all four years, he was made Captalin of the Junior Team in his'3B semester and Captain of the Varsity Team in 4A. He has been a member of the National Honor Society, the Lettermen's Club, the Key Club, the Lifeguards, the Centurians Hi-y, and the Honors Classes. GALKA 0 Biography Committee Ray was born on February 6, 1940, and- he attended St. Constance Grammar School, Upon graduation he entered Lane and became an active participant in school functions. R.ay's fine grades enabled him to become a member of the National Honor Society and Honors Classes. He was also the president of Lane's Polish Club. Membership in the Student Council ana active participation in Intramural Sports were among his other activities here. Ray's future plans include college, where he will major in BRUCE ISAACSON Picture Committee Bruce was born in Chicago on September 26, 1939. He at- tended the Stone Elementary School in Chicago and the Coff- man Elementary-School in Palm Springs, California, grad- uating from the latter in June, 1953. During the four years Bruce attended Lane, he was a mem- ber of the Student Council, of the Honor Classes, and the After graduation he plans to enter the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he will study electrical engineering.
