Q XX. ,gfriflilgr ' X s,- RICHARD MOBILIO Treasurer ' Rich came to Lane from Edgebrook Gram- mar School in September, l953, and immedi- ately began to distinguish himself in athletics and scholarship. He was a member of the baseball team for four years, and a track and fencing man. Rich was on the Super Honor Roll, and he participated in the Lane Daily, Lettermen's Club, and Honor Classes. He was Vice-President of Honor Society and Key Club, and former Spanish Club president. While a 4B, he was a recipient of Lane's co- veted Wabeno award. Rich intends to study chemical engineering at Stanford after graduation. JOHN T. LAMENDELLA Sergeant-at-Arms John was born on November lO, l939, and attended the Jahn Grammar School. While at Lane he was on the Swimming Team iCity Championship Team two semesters, two per- sonal championships, first placesl, making three letters in two years of swimm.ing. He belonged to the Lettermen's Club, Student Council, Key Club, Chorus, Lifeguard, Na- tional Honor Society, and Honors Classes. He participated in Intramural Wrestling, Volley- ball, Basketball, and in Typing. He belonged to the Archery Club and was President of Centurians Hl-Y, and of the Pan American Club and was also a Tech Prep and Annual Salesman. He plans to go to college and major in commerce. , June 1957 25

. .iii Glwu Effieeu ROBERT BECKER Vice-President Robert was born in Chicago on August 25, l939. Upon graduation from Jahn Grammar School he entered Lane, The School of Champions . Being interested in sports he immediately became active in school func- tions. On the baseball team for four years, he earned three letters, and All-State honors playing on the Illinois State High School Championship Team, as well as two letters in gymnastics, and a captain's letter in tum- bling. He was president of the Lane Letter- men's Club, a member of the championship Chorus and the Centurians Hi-Y, and a 4A architect. He has also been active in intra- mural sports, and gave of his services as a Tech Prep saleman and as a member of the Archery Club and Student Council. He plans to further his education in college and major in the field of architecture. ,24 Lone Tech Annual BERNARD GIERE Secretary Bernard was born on May 29, l939, and af- ter attending Alcott Grammar School, where he had plenty of experience holding offices, he entered Lane. He was, of course, a cinch to become one of Lane's prominent citizens. He began this pursuit after only one semester at Lane, when he joined the Football Team. In his third year he received his Letter, a cir- cumstance which made him eligible to join the Letterman's Club, Being athletically inclined, he also participated in intramural sports, join- ed the Ushers Club, became a Captain of the Hall Guards, and was an Annual and Tech Prep representative for two years. After leaving Lane he plans to further his education by attending college at Navy Pier as a mechanical engineering student. I

. lint , 1 ROBERT SIGNA Gift Committee In September of l953, after attending Stewart Grammar school, Bob entered Lane. ln his first year Bob joined several organization. Among them were the Chorus, Bowling Club, and Slide Rule Club. Through the four years at Lane Bob be- came the treasurer of the Key Club, and a member of the Honor Society and Honors classes. After graduation from Lane Bob plans on going to college to study engineering. ANDREW H. WALKOWIAK JR. Alumni Committee Andrew was born in Chicago on September 13, 1939, It had always been one of Andrew's ambition to attend the larg- est technical high school, in Chicago, Lane Tech. After grad- uation from St. Hedwig Grammar School in June of '53 he en- tered the School of Champions . While at Lane he became an l.M. manager and partici- pated in other extracurricular activities such Es Hallguard, Litho Club, Boat Club, and Traffic Engineering, Because And- rew was interested in machines, he consequently took the Smith Hughes Machine Shop Course, hoping some day to be- come a skilled machinist. COMMITTEE CHAIRMEN HARRY CRANDALL Arrangements Committee Harry, who was born in Chicago, entered Lane an un- witting Freshie , after graduating from Bad Axe Grammar School in Bad Axe, Michigan. While at Lane Harry's interests were mary. I-ic was Q member of the Student Council and be- came a Council officer in his Senior year. He was a member of the Marching and Concert Bands, National Honor Society, and LUFTOA. He participated in the Honor Classes and in Intramural Sports, and was president of the Lane Esquires Hi-Y Club. r-larry will continue his education upon graduation. CARL LANTZ Publicity Chairman Carl was born in Chicago on June 29, l939. He attended Pierce and Coonley Grammar Schools. After graduation from Coonley in June, l953, he entered Lane the following semes- ter During the time he was at Lane he was active in the Slide Rule, Radio, Model Railroad, Air Conditioning, and Camera Clubs. ln other activities Carl was a member of the National Honor Society and Commander of both Color Guard and the Crack Drill Platoon.
