A city has its local government: so does Lane. Its Student Council serves as the legislative, the Student Court as its judicial system: the traffic engineers and hallguards have been instituted to protect the property and to provide for the safety of all. Each city has ooctors, nurses, psychologists, librarians, carpenters, elec- tricians, glaziers, engineers, policemen, and maintenance departments to care for the needs of th.. inhabitants. All this Lane has also. Lane's corridors and campus resemble the parks of q city. Its art rooms, its library, its music rooms provide for the cultural and aesthetic needs. The gymnasiums, football fields, baseball diamonds, track, and natatorium pro- vide the recreational activities. A city of any size has a daily newspaper - so does Lane. It has a police department - so does Lane. It has a fire department - sg does Lgne. It has a health department - so does Lane.
