Jurulfy Nzffrs PERCY MOORE At their annual banquet, Lane Lettermen honored Percy Moore, Mr, Baseball of Lane , retiring after twenty nine years. Many alumni, who had played on his championship teams, and gone on to become successful in their respective tields due partly to the doc- trines acquired under his guidance, were pres- ent at the affair. RETIRING BENJAMIN A. POLZIN The promised day has come. Emancipa- tion is at hand? For those who guide-courage for today -absence from tear-greater selt- deterrnination in relation to educational pol- .cy and practices -continulng pursuit of de- mocracy as the goal ot public education. For youth---the school as a great adventurew- diminishing resistance to education-worthy use of leisuref-noble ideals and purposes-- new horizons tor service. VALE ANDREW C. GRANT Mr. AC. Grant has taught printing in the Chicago school system tor twenty seven years and came to l.ane in l93O. l-le was born in Lon- don in l884 and came to the United States when l8 months old. l-le is an amatur photo- grapher and a soloist in various choirs. I have great respect and adfniration tor the members of the Lane faculty, and regret leaving them and the students very much, was his answer when asked about leaving Lane.
