NOVEMBER ROSS Country team starts month off right taking another City Championship a n d head downstate---Senior swing date set for the 26th---Swimming team prepares for another city championship---The excavation of funds from senior's wallets continues---Semi-an- nual concert receives huge ovation and critics applaud highly---Senior Swing in Gym l is success and seniors feel their money was well spent---Do or die becomes watch word for seniors as last marking period begins for them ---Lane ties Schurz for North Section Championship---Suit coats become standard attire as Laneites mug for group pictures. DECEMBER LETTERMEN hold their annual alumni game and dance with the usual huge crowd at- tending---Alumni trim the Seniors with a Bato and Timbo combination---R. O. boys polish their uniforms to top brilliancy as they hold their Hop at the Evanston Women's club--- Cagers are ranked at top of city teams---Mask and Shears boys decorate themselves in greasepaints, wigs and costumes as they give One Wild Night ---Seniors start search for a prom date---Don't be left out---Final Friday night social draws hugh crowd and patiently wait for next social season---Tankmen led by Jerry Krumbholz prepare to defend their co- veted titles---Cagers set out toward another Stagg tourney title---Here's hoping Santa's good to you---Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year ---- JANUARY ETURNING from holiday vacation stu- dents settle down for the homestretch run ---Prom bids are handed out and are they ever be. .autiful---Cagers season is begun---Mid season will rob Freitag and Shyman from the teams---Farewell Prom draws tux clad seniors with their O. A. O.s out into the cold and out to the Evanston Woman's club---Where did we go after, again?---Jitters become a com- mon illness among seniors who practice marching onto the stage and receiving that little slip of paper---Annuals come out and autograph seekers roam the halls looking for their buddies---Last days slip by too fast--- Last goodbyes are said to teachers and friends ---We sit nervously in the auditorium with the tassels from our caps getting in our eyes ---Its all over now---We're Alumni now---Fare- well Lane. . ., J . , 4, Everybody turns out for the game. 5.Yea Teamll 6. Views and kcviews january '48 SEPTEAABER S THE warm sun slowly rises on an early morn the summons of the Lane Chimes are heard echoing over the campus green and are answered by a throng of boys prepared to face another semester---Wide eyed freshmen stroll wonderingly down the halls frantically in search for Gym 4 on the fifth floor---The presidents of the various clubs call their first meetings as the Lane clan rapidly recovers from entrance headaches and step into its old stride---The daily comes out under the editor- ship of James Newman---Mr. Gotschalk, long time chief engineer at Lane is replaced by Mr. Christopherson---Presses start to hum as an- other Tech Prep goes to press---Gridders drop practice game to Austin but bounce back slaughtering Lake View and Sullivan in fine style---Sophisticated seniors start wondering about those grades as first marking slowly creeps toward them--- OCTOBER ENIORS promenade through the corridors dressed in their best Sunday suits ready for photographs---Amundsen's powerhouse team collapses under the barrage of the Tech Grid- ders---Girls are seen in Gym l as the Friday night socials attract the elite of the North Side---School dons smoked glasses when 4A jewelry arrives---School becomes bedlam when Tech Prep finally comes out---Soccer team ties Marshall for second place in North Section---Senior comittees roll into the action and relieve seniors of the weight of the money they carry in their pockets---Waller adds its name to the growing list of defeats by Lane ---Frauelins from Steinmetz are entertained at a Halloween party by the Deutscher Verein of Lane---The name Mr. Pattullo is whispered in shudders among hopeful seniors as course books are given the final once over---Grid- ders almost sabotaged by Rough Riders as Lane creeps over Roosevelt---Campaign signs adorn the school as 4Bs elect Fred Lehman as their Pres.---Dr. Hunt honors Lane with visit as we solemnly honor our War Dead from Lane with ceremonies and the dedication of a Indian statue in memorial Garden--Gridders end regular season by whipping Taft---On to Schurz---
