John Stunkel Fourth Vice- President 0 To be different, John saw the dark of night on Sept. 6, 1920 in ye olden Chicago. He attended the McPherson and Amundsen Schools, but was graduated from the Daniel Boone Grade School. He was present at the new Lane when it opened, pulling along with the others for the best high school in the world. Four years of fine work merited him four scholarships and a membership in the Honor Society. In his fourth year, he was elected secretary of the Hall Guard Club, having been with that body for three years. Membership in numerous clubs made his spare time extremely limited. Future aims include being graduated from a highly rated eastern school and entering the field of commercial law. 0 Rudolph A. Koehler Secretary 0 Rudy was born in a little town in Germany on Aug. 19, 1919, After coming to the United States he attended the James G. Blaine Elementary School for the first eight years of his ed- ucation. He entered Lane in 1934 and immediately settled down to do the work before him in the very best manner. This he found not at all difficult, so numerous school activities soon followed. While at Lane he participated in most intramural sports and was a member of the Diesel Club, Student Council, and Physics Club. He became president of the latter. His high scholastic standing has won him all four scholarship awards and a membership in Lane's Chapter of the National Honor Society. As to the future, Rudy is uncertain, but he hopes to continue his technical educa- tion at some engineering school and become an electrical engi- neer. 0 K? , ' if-' i xx A- Herbert Julius Zeller,Jr. QW Tredsu I' 0 Herb was born in Chicago, Illinois, January 10, 1920 and was graduated from Waters Elementary School. Looking for a good foundation for an engineering career, Herb entered Lane - just one of a possible four thousand freshmen. Believing that the pen was mightier than the sword, Herb joined the Daily staff and rapidly found his way to the top as an editor-in-chief. Publi- city seemed to be a hobby with him, for he took care of all Lane publicity as well as that of the Bowling Club of which he was a member. Herb also was treasurer of the Dance Club, secretary of the Spurs and Saddle Club, was a member of the Civics Club and Glee Club, and was awarded two major service L's . He was one of the two students to represent Lane at the Illinois Press Association Convention in 1937. He plans to study industrial de- signing at the University of Illinois. 0 Allan Lynne Vanclerhool: Sergeant -at- Hrms 0 Born in Chicago on February twelfth, 1920, Allan hopes to enjoy some measure of the success attained by the honored gentleman who made this date an outstanding day in American history, Abraham Lincoln. Allan was graduated from the May- fair Elementary School in June, 1934. His next destination was Lane. During the time he spent at Lane he was a member of the Senior Basketball Team, and of the Economics, Civics, and Latin Clubs. He was repaid for the hard work he displayed at Lane with three scholarships and a membership in the Honor Society. He was also an active member of the Student Council in his sec- ond and third years. In his fourth year he became president of the History Club. His future plans are to enter Northwesten University and earn an M.D. degree. 0 for june 1938
