The study of history tells us what has gone before and indicates what may come. The Lane student may take world history if he so chooses but he is required to take U.S. history and civics, the study of our country's govern- ment. History can be found in our coins and stamps, too. Numismatists, coin collectors, have coins which represent different years or different countries. Philatelists, stamp collectors, deal with stamps both U.S. and foreign, each representing perhaps a historical event, place or person. Thus the study of stamps or coins can be one means of studying history. CLASSROOM POLlTlClANS, l-lonsen, Grossort, Kowal, and Carlson, read of new developments and pass judgment.
