What is music? The dictionary gives a good definition, but every person has his own ideas of the subject which produces everything from symphonies to popular songs. To accommodate these taste variants, Lane has a well- rounded music department which consists of a choral group, symphony orchestra, and concert, march, and swing bands. With such fine groups, and each under the baton of an excellent conductor, Lane offers an unsurpassed music department which, year after year, receives ratings of Superior, The orchestra, choral group, and bands, after teaching the boys to play instruments and appreciate music, perform for the students at the many festive assemblies, so that whether they like the classics or something with a beat, they can enjoy music.
