A dehonair socialite, he removes himself from this vehicle and carefully adjusts his Georgetown Shop tie. which matches his Saks jacket. As some of his less sophisticated classmates refer to it. Lee shoots the hull as he st1'olls toward the laboratory recounting the manner in which he kept a straight face while speaking his lines on Saturday night. Later in the day one can always spot. either at a year hook meeting or on the football field, this dashing fSdltOl'-f1llill'tCl'- back by his perfectly adjusted Brooks Brothers' handkerchief or his Abercrom- bie and Fitch shoulder pads. 24

Youthful exuberance is not ecerlastingf, -Tryon As 8:30 rolls around, The Fop decides it's time to hang up the phone and go to school. First on his schedule is finding the books he left in Torrey Hall all night. Always prepared with the excuse that the doors were locked when he went to col- lect them, he is off to first period. After six hours of brainwashing, the idol of Fourth Form biology wanders out to the football field for a restful afternoon spent in contemplation of the nightls home- work. Having annihilated all opposition at practice, he whips home and rushes through dinner to start homework. Fifteen minutes later, his assignments finished, he skims his little black book to find some likely prospects for the night. The -S'1lf76fflll0llS, a very necessary tliingfi -Voltaire It is ironical that from the country comes one of Landon's most urhane cos- mopolites- Gentleman jeff. Descending upon these azalea-hedecked grounds, he assumes lightly the tedious chore of aca- demic endeavor. Allergic to work, hut perspicacious, he rouses from his lethargy to master the daily task so that when the more important jobs of keeping the hounds and going to deh parties heckon. he can indulge his fancy with impunity. One cannot but Wonder at jeff's ability to present a thumbnail sketch of anyone he knows with a few well-chosen hut caustic comments.
