The Class of '42 has undergone annual promotion which resulted in the procurement of their highest ambition -the rank of Senior Classmen. With our rank, came certain privileges, responsibilities, respect, and leadership. Ours was the Sixth Form door to enter and re- enterg to deal with the Fourth Form in violation of our respect was quite persuasive. We were the chosen few. We soon dis- covered that the more important of our mutual inheritance was our responsibilities- our cooperation with the Masters and Mr. Baniield. We were individually inspired to have Landon a better school, a better place to practice being a man-and apply ones- self to a purpose. Many of us looked back on our younger days at Landon, and felt it hard to realize that we were about to separate from each other-from Landon. Many of us for the first time really worked at our studies. For our President, we elected jack Beatty. He has worked for our Class welfare, and done most of the work on our Yearbook. John Sager was elected Vice-President. To tend our Treasury, we elected a new- comer to our Class, Dick Gale. Dick showed his ability to collect dues, even our Fifth Form debts, and our assets for the fiscal year 1942 were gigantic. Mr. Sloane, we rc-nominated to be our Faculty Adviser. Our varied problems, we took to him for sage guidance. He was particularly swell as our private confidant, because he knew us all so well. We elected him as our Adviser in the Fifth Form and he soon learned which of us would expect advice about our College preparation, and also those of us who have trouble satisfying our Masters' grade-books. XVe dedicated our yearbook to him in an effort to show our thanks for his interest and help in our purpose. T1L't'IL'i'
