eftqdfdfl A Senior stands quietly in his place in the long line of graduates. The huge hall, filled with friends and relatives, is silent except for the strains of Pump and Circumstances. What goes on in the mind of a graduating senior? Come, let us explore and find out. How can it be that I am here? Why, only yesterday it seems I entered Landon's halls, my soul just filled with countless dreams. How quickly these six years have passed Since first we trod these hallowed halls! Can we look back to see our past While dimly hearing the future call? All my worries seem as nothing Now that I am nearly through. All my troubles vanish quickly As most troubles seem to do. Why did I so fret and worry Over math or tests or themes, When I know all would be ended And all this would be but dreams? Ended, did I say unthinking, When I know my work just starts? For I know that graduation Only gives my life its start. We all are facing future problems And we'll always have them too, But I hope the lessons taught us Will bear fruit for me and you. This old world is in a turmoil, But I'll do my very best To uphold the cause of freedom And in God's hands I'll leave the rest. Perhaps in the far distant future Someone will look back and say, A job well done has opened doors To the new and brighter day. These thoughts run through the mind of any Senior, no matter who he be. All of us look forward to graduation but not without sorrow. We request only that those we leave behind treasure each precious moment at Landon as we have, and, as we leave, we ho e to hear them say, Will not forget you, we'll not fail to walk ar you have done tzrougb the hallowed ball: of Landon. -Myrna Lawrence
