Here is a Freshman Eng- lish class which is taught by Mr. Yates. Now having discovered what high school English is like, they are ready for their second year. Do you have a problem as to which college or career to choose? Or is it a per- sonal problem that needs a sympathetic ear? Mrs. Glenn Miller, our counselor, is ready, willing and able to help you. We had to share her this year with China Grove, but next year at South Rowan the door to her office will be open every day. Practice, practice, practice. It seems that it never ceases. Under the direction of Mr. Charles Driver, our band has made various appearances throughout this year, one of which was the Shrine Bowl in Charlotte.

Most people would be lost in a chemistry lab, but not these students. With the guidance of Mrs. Barrow, they learn how to find what’s in their solutions and how to identify various metals. How many words can you type in a minute? These typ- ing students, taught by Mrs. Merritt, are learning speed, efficiency, and skill. Fond memories of “Julius Caesar”? “Friends, Ro- mans, and Countrymen— lend me your ears” or “Be- ware the Ides of March”. These famous lines will never be forgotten by these Sophomores.

The hustle and bustle of changing classes is caught by our photographer. We have just enough time to get our books and rush on to the next class. NNOUNCEMENTS | be 2... Geography is a very inter- esting subject, because it gives you the background, resources, topography, log- istics, and general infor- mation on the people of the world. Mr. Lewis teaches this course and he puts em- phasis on placement geog- raphy and knowing the re- lationships of the various countries of the world. The boys taking Agricul- ture, under the direction of Mr. Teague, do much outdoor work. These boys are learn- ing to survey.
