As Freshmen, we entered ‘High School.’ This was the beginning of four years of memorable events for us. We owe a lot to our teachers, advisors, and to each other, as schoolmates. Now, as Seniors, we are greatly indebted—to whom we may not know, but one day will realize. This person or thing, ‘’A Guiding Hand,’”’ will remain as always ‘A Spirit of Our High School Days.” Alma Mater “Again let us meet, and raise with cheer a song; To our Alma Mater, may joy our praise prolong. We'll give of our best for the glory of L.H.S. For black and for gold, for dear old Landis High Our praise evermore, for thy honored name we'll try.” BOBBY CAVIN Dedication ROWAN PUBLIC LIBRARY SALISBURY,NC L N 3907815532 | In memory of one who would have been our classmate and a graduate of 1959— MISS NANCY BOSTIAN daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. The time has now come for us to leave Landis High School. Let’s turn back Ole Father Time to the year of 1955. There approximately 180 Freshmen to enter the doors of Landis High. We started President; Oscar and were frightened ‘‘green”’ our year by electing Suzanne Swain, Overcash, Vice-President; Pat Biggs, Tony Belk, Treasurer, to lead us through the year. Our advisors, Mr. Thomas Jones, Miss Norma Gabriel, Mr. Glenn Deal, Mr. John Morgan, Mrs. Robert Caldwell, and Mr. Howard Graham, helped to make that year a successful one. As the end of our Freshman year came Jimmy Beaver was elected Secretary-Treasurer of the Student Government for the coming year. Our Beta ‘program, “Round The World in Music,’’ turned out to be quite a success. Next came the Junior Play. Our presentation of ‘’The Custer’s Last Stand,’’ given in April under the direction of Mrs. Earl Cavin, was also a big hit. _ With the money from our Carnival and Play we were able to give the Seniors a big banquet. Our banquet, with a Hawaiian theme, was given at the Yadkin Hotel, Harold Tadlock and Sandra Frieze represented History with the assistance of Mrs. ‘Doron. In May the Seniors honored us with a Prom at ye China Grove Community Building. We were glad to have Judy Deal and Larry Wilcox selected as Chief Marsh for the graduation exer- cise.
