In January 1931 a group of thirty women Physical Education teachers met at Muncie to discuss ways and means of improving the physical education and extra curricular activities program for high school girls. The league formed was called the Indiana League of High School Girls' Athletic Association. The object of the league is to stimulate participation of girls' athletics and to promote ideals of health and sportsmanship. c Lancaster High School joined the organization a number of years ago. This Year there are some twenty-six members. The officers are as follows: President- Martha Weaver, Vice-President- Dianne Sundermang Secretary- Joyce Cross, and Treasurer- Lois Hosler. The activities planned for the year were a six-week program in each tumbling, bowling, and swimming. The spring play day and volley ball tournament were highlights of the year. Also the G. A. A. parties were enjoyed by each member. We hope to stay in the state organization and each year improve our local organization. Q, Q1 QQ Q'

The high school chorus has been giving its usual programs this year including ap- pearances at the Lancaster Church of the Brethren, the Nazarene Church of Hunting- ton, and the u-H achievement banquet sponsored by the home economics clubs of the township. December 15 was the date for the annual Christmas :ageant at which the chorus and groups and soloists from the chorus presented several selections. we shall take part in the bounty Music Festival as usual and have promised to sing at several churches during the second semester. The variety show and baccalaureate services will find the chorus taking an active part. The girls double sextette of the 1952-S3 school year placed first in the district ensemble contest and second in the state contest. They sang for many programs last spring including the alumni banquet. Mary bhideler, accompanist, Joenita Funder- burg, and Gathel Haul, 1953 graduates, were replaced with buzanne Klepser, Beverly hoover, and Tom bhideler as accompanist. we have organized some new sextettes and quartettes this year which should be ready for appearance by early spring. Time for rehearsals for these groups in a major problem. '13 H-'SX gg. fgl 3 3 391 ll v 621 eg! Y
