Chapter initiated 6 greenhands into the chapter this year. They were Charles Coble, Raymond Heaston, Jerry Wiley, Jerry Keyser, Ronnie Yates, and Danny Hiatt. This makes the Chapter a total of 21 members consisting of 16 greenhands and five chapter farmers. We have one candidate for the Hoosier Farmer degree this year. Gene Minton and Larry Lahr attended the state convention as delegates from our chapter last April. The chapter remained active during the summer and held three meetings. It was decided that we would have a concession stand at the fair which turned out to be very successful. Other activities of the chapter have been a scrap drive, and two banquets. The Parent and Son Banquet was held October lhth. There were 19 boys and their parents present. Guests were Nr. Weber, Huntington Post Officeg Al Shultz, Huntington Herald Pressg Mr. Updike, Trusteeg Mr. Henning, Principalg Nr. Holsopple, Pastor of the Lancaster Church of the B ethren. Decorations for the Banquet were based on a harvest theme. The program consisted of presenting Mr. Updike and Hr. Henning with Honorary Chapter Farmer degrees, and Nr. Weber presented the 25th Commemorative Stamp to the chapter. 5The chapter served as host to the district officers and advisors for the fall meeting of district six and officers training school. There were 86 present representing 13 chapters. Nr. K. W. Kiltz, lthe executive secretary and treasurer of the state association spoke on the NHigh1ights of the National Conventionn held in October at Kansas City. The chapter made a trip to the International Livestock Expositioniwhile in Chicago visited Swift 'and Company, the Tribune Building and the Museum of Natural History. A gilt ring was started and the chapter is planning to make gates and other farm articles for sale to farmers in the community. Sixty-nine of these members completed projects at the County Fair. Our meetings were held the first Tuesday and second Monday of each month. We had one joint h-H meeting with the girls. The officers of h-H were: President-James Hacker, Vice-President-Joe Stanley, Secretary and Treasurer-Beverly Hoover, Recreation Leader-Joe Hacker, Music Leader-Tom Shidelerg Softball Manager- Joe Stanley. Our softball team went to the semi- finals in the tournament and were finally defeated by Union. We had some good results from the County Fair with four grand champions--Jim Weaver with the ton litter of hogs, John D. Updike in Entomology I, Paul Douglass with a pen of three lambs, and Alan Updike with a single lamb. We had some reserve champions from our school who were--Duane Creek with a cross-breed hog, Rex Dolby in Division I of Electricity, Kyle Stouder in Division II of Electricity, and David Beiber got reserve in dairy at county and state. The Junior Leaders were: Keith Sharp, Gene Minton, Joe Hacker, Jim Hacker, Bob Manning, Jim Wiley, Joe Stanley, Kyle Stouder, and Jack Boyer.

In January 1931 a group of thirty women Physical Education teachers met at Muncie to discuss ways and means of improving the physical education and extra curricular activities program for high school girls. The league formed was called the Indiana League of High School Girls' Athletic Association. The object of the league is to stimulate participation of girls' athletics and to promote ideals of health and sportsmanship. c Lancaster High School joined the organization a number of years ago. This Year there are some twenty-six members. The officers are as follows: President- Martha Weaver, Vice-President- Dianne Sundermang Secretary- Joyce Cross, and Treasurer- Lois Hosler. The activities planned for the year were a six-week program in each tumbling, bowling, and swimming. The spring play day and volley ball tournament were highlights of the year. Also the G. A. A. parties were enjoyed by each member. We hope to stay in the state organization and each year improve our local organization. Q, Q1 QQ Q'
