I think that students Cno matter what grade they're inj should take Bible class at least once every year. Bible in a way should be the main goal in this school. Miriam Abreu, 10 I think Bible classes are kind of shoved on you. It seems like they say, 'You take them and you'l1 be a good Christian.' I m crammed for time the way it is. But as time went by, I guess I just got sick of them. It's usu- ally the same old thing week by week. This year I'm not buying lunch for that reason, but I'm also trying to eat only two meals a day as part of a commit- ment to Christ. We could drag out all the old cliches about being a senior, but it will suffice to say that we have become. We are including under each senior's name his address, church, and future plans. Also, for all you parents and grandparents who enjoy figuring out genealogies we have included the parents' names. Since there is a variety of people in our class, we have tried to pick out some of the unique parts of us and include them so that they will never be forgotten. You really get to know people by meeting them at such an early hour. It was a great experience to be with other senior friends and share, learn, and grow together. The F.B.I. building was one of the interesting places we vis- ited and I also enjoyed watching them print all the money. The sen- ior trip had its problems, but over- all it was well worth the time. Brenda Simpson The Washington trip proved to be very exciting and enjoyable for me. Of the many places we went, I enjoyed the Washington Cathedral and the Kennedy Space Center most. I also enjoyed the unique discussions that I shared with fellow classmates over such things as a painting in the art museum or the purpose of the Capitol Building. I will remember the trip as a profitable experience both in learning about Washington, D.C. , and in enjoying lives of individual brothers and sisters of our Class of '77 . For my mind, chorus was practice of more meaningful music. For my voice, chorus was an exercise, a training of song. For me, chorus is a group of brothers willing to be led by Christ in song. For my soul, chorus was, and is, a way to share and sing for Christ. D. J. Jarvis Men's Chorus US I' mor Cho Se cn C cu db E r Chorus nio Se :Edu as much ou+ as I pu+ in. We had a good time and worked hard. The time I will remember is when Mr. Moshier was out for awhileg instead of goofing off we sang songs. Karl Oberholtzer Junior Chorale lnsirumenial Club Instrumental Club meant having fun playing together with other students - it also meant enduring the nuisance of having to lug your instru- ment to school every Thurs- day. Club was often hilarious as new musical sounds were introduced to us when we sight-read music for the first time, but Club was also rewarding for those times we attained a desired musical quality. Being able to claim membership on college applications? Participating in service projects done ON campus? - the most memorable being when we washed every window in the classroom building! For me it was all of the above, but also being able to meet and become better acquainted 'with those having similar abilities and interests. FAA Our FAA consists of students who are interested in the field of Agriculture throughout the year. Our executive committee and advisors plan our monthly activities. Some of these activities con- sist of an ice cream party, guest speakers, movies on agriculture, skits, agriculture quizzes, and a gym night. DeVon Groff 12 Left: Meet our new maintenance person. Library Assisianis Being a librarian assistant includes checking out books, giving up a study hall, putting books back on shelves, helping students find materials in the library and ringing the five minute bell. One of the most valuable experiences has been becoming li familiar with the characteristics of a library and how much time and patience a librarian puts into her work. Wrilers' Club Writers' Club is a conglomeration of dreamers who turn feelings into tangible pieces of reality. The newly organized Writers' Club is dedicated to the proposition that not all poetry is boring: least of all, what you write yourself. They keep club spirit up by reading and critique- ing each other's poetry. Robin Gleim 12 Crowds gather round a table in the lunch room. Great tension fills the air and everyone is deathly quiet. Two competitors are seen facing each other, deep in thought, a barrage of intricacies bombarding their minds. Before them is a board filled with abstract shapes, plastic repre- sentations of inner turmoil. Harold Hege 12 Chess Club Gospel Teams I served on one of the eleven Gospel Teams giving programs in thirty-one churches this year. Serving on a Gospel Team was a learning experi- ence for me. The emphasis is on studying and learning, of course, but preparaa tion for a vocation is understood as just one important part of the total EMC experience. The overall aim is to develop a life- style of Christian discipleship, which to me means seeing all areas of life in the context of one's commitment to Jesus as Lord. This process of developing as a 'vvhole person' has helped me to make important decisions as to where I go from here. And I be- lieve it has prepared me to see growing and learning as a life-long process. -David A. Detrovv David A. Detrow, a senior psychology and social work major from Leetoma, Ohio, is president of the Young People 's Christian Associa- tion fYPCAl at EMC. Some time a year- book will come up with a way to dedicate a yearbook to Miss Gehman without letting her know about it, but for now, thank you for the dedication you have shown. Thanks, Merv Stoltzfus, Lois Groff, and Steve Shenk for the use of your pictures. I also appreciated the help of the three English classes in writing captions when our creativity ran dry. Thank you, teachers, friends, par- ents, and everyone who gave us the courage to go on even when we didn't feel like continuing. civvv W ff Taylor Publishing Company Insilco is , 'HN 1 QQ? 9 iizflf-E75 if + X X . .
