To achieve this, we held weekly meetings, stayed after school, and missed classes. We wrote copy, laid out pictures that our photographers took , identi- fied people on each picture, and sold yearbooks. We worked hard, trying to put together a yearbook that would show our year different from any other. We did our best to produce a yearbook of which our school could be proud. ., - 'qt 4 'HQ' -lb 45' 'hi 2 Marcia Good and Ronda Sauder, Editors 'H P471 . -in Hr V. . 5' 'Sf ' I . M 'se' .Q CJ G. Hockey, cross country, soccer, basketball, track, or softball - what are the benefits? Some of the more noticeable aspects are wind sprints, exercises, and aching muscles: but also included is the satisfaction of knowing that you are in good physical shape . There is always excitement and tension, coaches happy and coaches otherwise . There are victories like beating CD in bas- ketball for the first time, and sweeping the first five places in the cross country tournament, but also defeats like losing again to CD in the soccer tournament. Some personal benefits one receives are discipline and les- sons in relationships. Yes, vic- tory is sweet, but defeat can also become a learning experience. Who says college grads can't secure jobs? COLLEGE GCJSI-IEN INDIANA When you're job-hunting, the employer will often hire the person with the most schooling. If you're a college grad, you can offer more training and experience in working with people and ideas than many who have no college. A four-year college program prepares you for a specific career area and for future career mobility. Further, if you're from Goshen, you have the help of a Career Services staff to place you in that important first full-time job .... And, a practicum-internship in your chosen field to introduce you to the world of work and increase your employability. Of our 1975 graduates who chose schoolteaching, 90 per cent are in the classroom or teaching-related positions. The percentages are also impressive for our graduates in business and nursing. We also send graduates on to further study in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, law, and the ministry. I haven't raised the water level by swimming in it, but l've met many other fish from many different creeks, and all of us together make quite a school. Fighting the current by swimming upstream can seem quite exhausting-even futile at times-but it certainly prepares one for the oceans that lay ahead. -Philip IVI. Shenk lVIt. Joy, Pa.
