MRS. MICKEY MCDANIEL Secretary to the Superintendent MR. J. E. DAWSON Superintendent of Schools TO THE CLASS OF 1962: We hear much of the Challenge of the '6O's . . . yet in reality it is the same challenge which has faced every generation as it comes of age in our beloved country. lt is the challenge to establish a home, to render service to community and nation,Ato be able to care for one's own financial needs, and to make home, community, and nation better because you have been there. Yet in the challenge of the '6O's comes a need for reinforcement of one of the oldest prin- ciples of American living-the resurgence of the individual's feeling of responsibility in every area of life. lt is my sincere hope that your years in Lancaster High School have helped provide you with an understanding of your need-and our country's need-for your living as a responsible individual, and that you do your part, to the fullest of your ability, to see that this nation and the principles which have, under God, made it great, do not perish from the earth. Sincerely,

MR. W. W. ALFRED Principal, Lancaster High School We of Lancaster High School are concerned with Education as it affects our rights and privileges, our duties and responsibilities. As students and citizens of a Democracy, it is important that we be able to distinguish between these rights, and equip ourselves to be able to cope with problems affecting our future. To the class graduated I wish for them success now and in later years. To those of you who still have years to spend in Lancaster High School, it is time for you to take inventory. Have you received fully what has been offered? Have you offered anything of value to your fellow students? To the faculty and student body I say thank you for your cooperation and untiring effort that has made this school year a most productive and enioyable one. May the desire for knowledge and truth be with you always. May God bless and keep us one and all. Sincerely, .WI W
