24 1953 CLASS PROPHECY It was on pretty October day in the yeor 2000 when we arrived in the thriving metropolis of Lon- coster. Since our high school groduotion in June. 1953. we had not been back. By the woy, we hop- pen to be Marilyns-eMilsom ond Nusboum, who hove just returned from Hollywood. completing o successful career. together replacing onother Mor- ilyneyou know, Monroe. Wolking down Arledge Avenue. which in 1953 was Main Street. but renomed in honor of Loncoster's womon moyor Betty Jone Arledge. we ran into Bill Groybill, now principal of L.H.S. Being interested in our old Clossmotes. we asked him to bring us up to date on the occupations and where- obouts of some of them. Bill was quite hungry as usuol and suggested thot we join him at Horold Huppis Hamburger Hoven tor discussion of some of our old friends. When we were comfortably settled, we recognized the waitresses: Pot Morrow, Rosemory Chilcote. Corolyn Reid. Lenoro Spires. Doro Pittmon, and Lois Cox. Bill informed us that the excellent hom- burgers we were munching were prepared by chefs Poul Robe and Gene Ayers. Bill seemed quite eager to talk to us end started out on one of his Iong-winded speeches. To begin with, L.H.S. has undergone quite O chonge. Both the girls and boys hove 0 swimming pool. Borboro Deol. and Joyce Stein. Coaching in the athletic department ore Dove Kern. Gene Westenborger. ond Dorrell Huttmon. Mony of our graduates ore civic minded. Miesse Mouger. noted because of his long record in safe driving, is trottic court judge. Police chief is Earl Raymond. Serving on his force ore Cort Siler. George Appel. Ronnie Nusser, Jerry Dupler. and John Grove. Fred Stewart is sherittc and his deputies ore Dick Former, Dove Cannon, and Poul Arter. Working for the county road department ore Don Bowlby. Edgar Henderly, Pot Agosto. Ron- nie Peck. and David Stretton. You know we hove on new hospitol on Kin- keod Hill: of course. you remember that place! Hospital superintendent is Jerry DeMereH. and Janet Rutt is the Nursing School Supervisor. Under her direction are the nurses. some of whom are Anno Ely. Morie Stouder. Clarice Anderson. Iso- betlo Toylor. Anetta Hines, Virginio Julian, and Rosemary Bowers. Orderlies ore important in 0H hospitals and this one is no exception. Ed West- hoven will soon be retiring. but he has given many toithtul years to the hospital in this capacity.
