PROPHECY ' Cloud No. 7734, Heaven May 31. 2051 Mr. Bob Goodman, Gatekeeper Hades Dear Bob: Do you remember this date 100 years ago today? That’s right, it was our gradu- ation day at Lancaster High. Around here I have been looking up some of our old classmates, and I can't account for all of them. Two of my spies, Sherry Herd and Fern Clendenen, reported having seen you watching the gate down there. Are you very crowded? I hear people have been dying to get in here. Every- one up here is quite busy. Would you like to hear about some of the things we are doing? Well, to begin with, every- thing is in on uproar. A very important person is coming next week—Gwen Har- gus, the inspector. The harp tuners, Dick Eslinger, Janet Conrad, and Don Callahan, have been quite busy getting a lot of harps in shape. Six of the harp players are practicing. They are Pauline Parrish, Faye Spaun, June Pfeiffer, Charla Pickering, Joan Friend, and Patty Burnside. Over on the halo cloud I can see everyone, and they all look busy making new halos and shining the old ones. The head man around here is Ernest Shaeffer. Some of his helpers are Patty Mast, Nida Matz, Jane Collins, and Charlie Fish- bough. On the next cloud I see floating by, there are a lot of robes. I can barely see Donna McCarten waving that big stick. She seems to be head girl around that deportment. Donna has Terry Jewell, John Hedges, Carl Clark, and many more washing robes. Then she has Carolyn Spires, Audrey Patrick, and Mary Ellen Schorr inspecting them to see if they ore clean. Next, I see she has Gary Hauke and Eugene Williamson starching them. Boy, you should see the long line of driers she has. There are Richard Shumaker, Tom Wildermuth, Bob Snider, James Sha- ner, Bob Walton, Thomas Miller, and Tom Larimer. After they are dried they are taken to the ironers, who are Larry and Jerry Cook, Pete Arent, Robert Bar- ber, and Jerry Blosser. Behind me I can see Norma Wright- sel with a huge feather in her hand. She seems to be telling Solly Wilson, Betty Kelton, Betty Hill, Patti Getz, and Mary Woods where to put this feather and that one. I hope she gets those new wings made before next week. Everywhere I look around here I can see my angels. Those practicing the latest flying dances are Joyce E. Clark, Jane Stoughton, Carolyn Kistler, Carolyn Walter, Marty Griffith, Bill Nichol, Gary Poge Twenty
