SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In September 1954, thlrty s1x freshmen enrolled ln L H S The class offlcers for th1s year were Presldent, Shlrley Schwenzfeler, V1ce Presldent, B111 Thomson, Secretary, Mae Nordlne, Treasurer, Conn1e deberg, Reporters, Marlys Berkeland and Arnold Clow, Student Counc1l, Conn1e Hugg and Orval Lund Our advlsor was Mr Northouse The b1g event of the year was 1n1t1at1on Everythlng from onlons to rubber boots were worn durlng the day the afternoon Kangaroo Court was held and 1n the evenlng a party was glven ln honor of the freshmen Durlng the school year Dorls Gardlner and Gary Peterson dropped out of our class Thlrty f1ve sophomores enrolled but a few old classmates dropped out and we got a few new ones The students who left our grade were Rlchard Glad and Eleanor Otto Sheldon Jacobson and Carol Black were our new classmates The hlghllght of thls year was 1n1t1at1ng the freshmen Our class offlcers were Presldent, Orval Lund, V1ce Presldent, Connle Weberg Secretary, Jan1ce Bylund, Treasurer, Arnold Clow, Reporters, Isabell Isaacson, and Sophle Boroskl Our advlsors were M1ss Dlppe and Mr Angell when we came back for our JUD1OP year we notlced we had a loss of two classmates They were Carol Black and Sheldon Jacobson The JUHIOT year turned out to be a very busy one The class play, dlrected by Miss Stoxen, was Don t Take My Penny In May we gave the prom and banquet The theme was HFa1ryland Romancen The class offlcers were Presldent, Connle Hugg, V1ce Presldent, Marlys Berkeland, Secretary, Shlrley Schwenzfeler, Treasurer, Loulse Nlderstrand, Reporter, Jan1ce Bylund HAH Senlors at Lastlu we started our senlor year w1th 28 members 1D our class The ones we lost were Jan1ce Vlereck and Patty Farbo In November we gave our class play whlch was, 'Stranger 1n the Nlghv' Our dlrector was Mrs Arnes The class off1cers were Pres 1dent, Isabell Isaacson, V1ce Pres1dent, Jan1ce Bylund, Secretary, Doreen Glad, Treasurer, Marlys Berkeland Student Councll, Connle Hugg, Leland Rundqulst and Arnold Clow The h1gh llghts of the year was the class tr1p and GRADUATION' SENIOR CLASS WILL In the m1dst of the turmoll and confuslon of th1s glorlous day of Aprll l8,1n the year of 1958 we, the graduatlng class belng ln as good physlcal and mental cond1t1on as could be expected under the clrcumstances, are hereby executlng th1s legal document prov1d1ng PROPHECY It is now in the summer of '68 As we look up the class of '58 The whole 27 have scattered around, But where 1n the world can they be found The flrst one we flnd 1S stlll close to home Leland Rundqu1st 15 now farmlng out on the loam He's got chlckens and cows and leads a good l1fe W1th 4 l1ttle klds and a cute llttle wlfe We declded to When a detour We were gO1Dg 'The englnee drlve down to Mlnneapolls that da lgn Sald Htake the other wayu, to turn back when someone Sald, 15 Bucku we almost dropped dead We stopped for a wh11e but then sped on, when we Even at But our He told reached Mlnneapolls lt was nearly dawn th1s hour whom d1d we meet, old classmate Ronnle, cleanlng the street us to look up Mae whlle there, She's about to be marrled and 15 danclng on alr Th1s 15 her 6th attempt at maklng a catch, He's a rlch m1ll1ona1re and a real good match It was late that day when we boarded a plane, We thought we'd fly to Denver to see Connle Jane We all thought we'd flnd her dressed up as a nurse, But she's stlll a waltress course she could've done worse We went to the alrport where we were to be met, By our classmate Garth and h1s new Saber get He told us he had worked about lO years or so, Trylng to make a car that couldn't go slow Our next stop was Santa Catallna, the lsland of romance, It was there we met Conn1e Hugg qulte by chance, She's teachlng the natlves how to Jltterbug and bop, And when she gets golng she never knows when to stop Back we went to the malnland of good old U S A It was there we found 1D the alrport, dear old Janlce Mae She has the lmportant Job of washlng wlndows on the planes And taklng care of passengers wlth all thelr aches and pa1ns She then 1nv1ted us down whlle there we turned on But Marlys Berkeland and They sang songs and told Off we went to Hollywood We flnd h1m a partner of They dance rock and roll for a brlsk cup of tea, t61eV1S10n and whom d1d we see, Doreen ln a qualnt comedy hour, Jokes they were really qulte sour to try and f1nd Billy there, Elv1s's and OH' what a palr and llke to s1ng, Thelr latest record ousted Blng We then sped off for Indla to flnd our frlend Elleen, She's teachlng the natlves how to grow a new hybrld bean She says the sun's so hot lt scorches them, as fast as they can grow, And at nlght she entertalns the natlves wlth an or1g1nal accordlan solo Whlle across the sea we stopped at the Belglum Fa1r, We found James Erlckson a famous SC1ent1St there told us he had invented a new nthlng a ma Jlgn, That understands women lt really sells b1g Then over to Russla we thought we'd go, It was there we met thelr new dlctator, Arnold Clow He's worklng on a progect, a new mlssle we guess, And has tlmed lt to drop on poor old L H S .
