SIX to seventeen Early in September, 1953 thirty eager young freshmen entered the halls of LHS Returning from eighth grade were Billy Lindstrom, Evangeline Brown, Beverly Quiner, Marie Weleski Marlene Peterson Carl Nordm Darrel Skogen Ralph Lindstrom, Bobby Satterlund, Darrel Vagle Ronnie Wallenberg Lawrence Molley Helen Nordine, Gcorgmc Karol, Sheldon Jacob sen Roger Nordine M 1ry Lou Nordstrom Carolyn Peterson, Jerry Carlson Jerry Anderson Jerry Norland Larry Clow Gayleen Glad Janice Hammcrstrom, Valerie Hunter Ginny Gustaf son Darlene Eclcholm Roland Larter Bobby Carlson A new face was added to our midst this year Gerald Vollmers transfei red to us from Fisher Minn Marlene Peterson Bev Quiner and Gerald Vollmers were chosen to lead the class as president, secretary and treasurer, re spectively We chose Mr Iverson as our advisor The highlight of our freshman year which we approached with mixed emotlons, was initiation We were dressed in everything from gunny sacks to bathing suits Quickly the summer passed and in the fall of 1954 we returned to school to find that several of our classmates were gone Evangeline Brown, Gerald Vollmers, and Roger Nordine were missing from the roll We elected officers in the fall w1th Jerry C as president, Marlene as treasurer and Janice as secretary Mr Haubrich was our advisor This year held more in for the prom and putting on a Jean Jump at the end of the year In looking over the class roll in the spring we find that Darrell Vagle and Beverly Qumer have left us during the year Putting on the Junior Senior Prom and Banquet occupied much of our time during our Junior year We also managed to put on a very successful play 'Little Women directed by Miss D1ppe Another highlight of the year was the ordering of our class rings Roland, Valerie Jerry N , and Billy led our class this year Mr Haubrich mad a fine advisor The ntunber in our class has dropped again this year Sheldon, Darlene Jerry and Gayleen left the class Darrell Skogen started at Christmas Seniors at last' Wc now find that our class numbers twenty one Valerie was elected presi dent Carolyn vice president Helen, secretary Bobby treasurer and Mr Frank and Miss Brusseau our advisors Homecoming started off the year's social act1v1t1es Marie Weleski was chosen our Home coming Queen Noxember 16 was a big date for the seniors We put on our play Campus Quarantine, then Miss Stoxen directed us in this successful dram 1t1c effort Now the main events of our senior year lay before us Our class trip Baccalaureate and Commence ment will soon become memories which each and every senior will cherish forever C .
