Class History H11 I am a green freshman. The first day of school in l9S2, I came to the respectable brick building which is our Lancaster High School. As I look a- round I saw forty-one starry-eyed expectant faces. They are: B. Cory, M. Clow, S. Dexter, J. Vngman, H. Masloski, L. Clad, P. Lager, U. Florey, K. Glad, T. Dahlman, D. Ward, D. Ward, C. Satterlund, D. Otto, M. Lindstrom, B. Satterlund, L. Otto, 7. Uurray, A, Peterson, R, Phillips, A, Molley, C. Mattson, K. Hanson, B. Knvananh, B. Huge, N. Hartwig, J. Jaszczak, D. Gustafson, L. Isaacson, D. Henderson, L. Hunter, H. Strege, N. Gardiner, and P. Farbo. Our his event of the year was initiation. We were dressed in everything from ruhher panties to tin cans. A whole year is past and I come back as a mature sophomore ready to Ngive it to the freshmenn. I find I now have thirty-two classmates. Those who have dropped out are: T. Dahlman, O. Eggerud, R. Phillips, B. Kavanagh, J. Jaszczak, D. Gustafson, and J. Engman. Our new member was W. Walukieviecz who transfered from Hallock, and N. Wilehski who came back from Minneapolis. The highlights of this year was our freshmen initiation party and we ended the school year with a NJean Jumpu held in the new auditorium. A wonderful three month vacation elapses and I return an eager junior. I again find our roll call has dropped to twenty-nine. N. Clow, W. Walukieviecz, D. Zilke, C. Satterlund, and R. Vurray, have left the marked and worn halls of L.H.S. An addition to our class is quiet J. Wold. The main event of the year was the presentation of our class play, HMe and My Shadown, directed by Mr. Cheatham, which was closely followed by the Prom and Banquet. - ' when the crops are heina harvested and the earth is sprinkled with red and gold I asain return to the hallowed halls of L.V.3. I find D. Sjostrand, D. Vffd, and L. Otto have left us. Our senior year is one continuous main event with our play leading, followed closely by the variety show, class trip, Bac- calaureate, and Cormencement. Our class history may not no down in the history books, but it will go down in the secret poics of the hearts of every senior graduating on Nay 2hth, 1956. Class Will Ladies and gentlemen faculty, parents, relatives, and lastly ---- under graduates, as the honored ers., we would like to have you hear our last Will and Testament. Hirst of all we leavel Then we leave to the faculty the contentment and peace of rind that alwavs follows the nbrainstcrws.H To the janitors we leave any peanut shells, gum wrappers, gun, and whatever else they may find in OUP littered patlways. , To the Juniors we leave our nonev rakinq ability, and honored places in the asserhlv, in hopes they will keep it as neat and clean as we did. To the Sophomores we leave our knowledge, patience with the teachers, and ahility to act like ladies ard aentleren. To the Freslmen girls we leave our handsome Sr. boys. To the Freshmen hovs we leave the Sr. hovs ability to flirt. To the lonely halls of T.V.S. we leave the endless vncuur of sound, the many lost and found slips, the carved initials of heart throts, and whatever else gets left hetind in our rad rush to escape! fC0nt1nued on mage 48,7 11 Class Prophecy This 1S J1m Wold speaklng to you from the newsroom of the T H S H1l1tes, your county seat weekly newspaper published in Caribou, V1nnesota Tomorrow night the repional basketball tournaments are being held Caribou and Orleans are competina for the honor The star of the Caribou team is Gary Vagle while Shirley Dex ter is the star on the Orleans team Tonl ht, here in town, we are pleased to have the world's remiere of Doreen Hppman's new movie called 'Swabie the story of her youth It seems llke thls VlClHlty has been pettinv all the hon ors lately The other night we heard a wrestling match on the radlo We were surprlsed to hear Karen Clad won over Butch Hunter A SPeC181 Bookkeepins QP8dU8tlOH service was held last n1ght for Ursula Flory, who has been taking extra nlaht cour sos for the last ten years Her coach, who deserves special credlt, 18 Maureen Welebskl A week from tonight Professor Gladenstemn w1ll give a lecture at the fmnous nHub in Lancaster You may remember hls wlfe, the former Barbara Lou Cory Just nominated as the 'Nations Most Fruitful armer was Tavern Isaacson He ralses fruit The hottest news off the pO11tlC8l front today 13 the de bate between Morley Hartwig and Harry Nasloski, two candidates for the Secretary of Agrlculture nomlnatlon The subgect of eir debate is, ' ich Came First, e Chicken or The F 9' addition of a new factory whlch lS belnp bullt Don Ward is busy manufacturing b acelets Hlash l We lnterrupt this proaram to13r1na you a speclal announc enent A spy Just escaped from RUSSlB' Pattl Laver has been over there bus ly checking up on the 8CtlVltl6S of the Com munist Party boss, Don Henderson Now back to our regular news A local boy, Larry Glad, was recently seen on a coast to coast TV provram He became famous as the author of nThree Blind Rats Betty Ann Hu g lS making Hblq money working for the 'before and after ads of 'See magazlne as a mo e The Kentucky Derby was run last week in Tennesee The winninp entry came from Parbo Farms Inc ridden by ace jockey Roberta Farbo Word was received here that Marian Lindstrom just struck it rlch in 'The Lonely Hearts Club ' The lucky man is none other than smiling Billy Satterlund Arlyce Peterson just landed her B 29 in a dandelion field north of Lancaster She is the first woman to land succes s'ully on a dandelion On Sunday of this week open house will be held for Mr and Mrs Dale Boisner in honor of their 25 years of happy mar rled life It will be held in the Legion Hall The doors will opin when someone comes and will close when someone goes Every one is welcome No cards have been sent Chucky Mattson, inventor of a revolutionary snow meter, says his contribution to science was carved by his hatred of shoveling his way to Hallock every Saturday night 'Delores' Dine and Dance joint located three miles south of Tolstoi on Highway 59 will be open every night this week This is all the news I have for you this year from the Hilites office, Jim Wold speaking We will now turn you back to Crookston for the weather report by the unpredictable Marian Cardlner nThe weather for this year will be, hot in su mer, cold in winter 2 p Y ' H.
