After many years of service to the school and to the community, Mr. Schermerhorn will retire at the close of the school year in June. His services to the school have been many and varied and reflect his equally varied personality. His classes over the years have included history and appreciation, music theory, girls' chorus, and mixed chorus. His outside activities in- clude acting as advisor to the music and directing many spirited musical productions. ln the true spirit of modern man, Mr. Schermer- horn's interests include the writing of young children's books and the writing of travelogues. Mr. Schermer- horn has also made extensive trips to South America. With these interests, life can be nothing but in- teresting and enioyable. Just as his career over the past years has been well rounded and full, his warm personality and insatiable curiosity should guarantee an equally full and varied retirement. We at Lancaster High School speaking for ourselves and for those who have known him over the years, wish him the best of everything in whatever endeavors he selects.
