Mr. Frank Seeger, Mr. Walter Winter, Mr. Brown, Mr, Raymond Over, g 1 ,gli Mr. Lyle Schoenthal, Mr. John Dauscher, Mr. Harold Davis THE Board of Education of Lancaster UFS District 58 has spent many hours during the last three years in planning educational facilities for Lancaster's boys and girls, both present and future . On April 30, 1948, Dr. W. K. Wilson of the State Education Department inspected our schools and recommended that we construct three new elementary buildings, as well as an addition to the high school. A Buffalo firm of architects, Duane Lyman and Associates, drew the plans, which were then approved by the Buildings and Grounds Division at Albany. If the original proposal to bond the district for two million, three hundred thousand dollars had not been defeated at the First election, the entire program would have been possible. On February 20, 1950 the district voters did approve of constructing two new grade schools, one on Como Park at S589,000 and the other on the Division Street site at S377,000. However, a proposal to ,build The Court Street elementary school was again defeated. In November 1950 the voters of District W8 voted an additional sum of 595,000 for the Central Avenue School. The new buildings are expected to be completed by September of this year. 7 -'W t 4 1 1 4 1 i it i i H ii l r 4 r 4 l 1 ,r i 'l i i -4 2 1 w L l K 1 I 1 i i it il i i l 1 i' l l 4 f and

ADOLF TO a man who gave so much of his time, interest, and effort in twenty-nine years of unpaid service to the Lancaster Board of Education, the Class of 1952 wishes to pay special respect and honor. During his seventeen years as President of the Board, he helped promote an addition to our high school building, and the three new elementary schools now planned or under con- struction. The youth of Lancaster, and its whole educational system, lost a real friend and supporter in Mr. Joseph R. Adolf. 6
