ШЫ HISTORY Ås we, the class of 249, come to the crossroads that awaits every graduating class, our pio- neer spirits are aroused and we are eager for our new life to begin. Back in 1945 our highway was only a poorly-marked trail which seemed hard to follow. How- ever, we gained confidence after a successful Junior High Play and our graduation from ninth grade. Black and gold became our class colors, and the yellow rose our official flower. After our entrance into Senior High we found that all new class projects need to be financed. We then waged a successful magazine subscription sale under the leadership of Adolph Rohl, our President. He had capable assistance from Marion Kessel, our Vice-President, Arlene Hughes, our Secretary, and Stanley Zokaitis, our Treasurer. The trail began to widen and a shining light beckoned us. Our Sophomore Hop was another milestone successfully passed. Again in our Junior year we were led by Adolph Rohl. Florence Torpy became Vice-President, Donald Bove, Treasurer, and Arlene Hughes continued as Secretary. Early in the year, after two successful roller skating parties, we discovered that our class was made up of many willing work- ers. Our class also gave a Valentine’s Dance which was reputed to be one of the best every given. For the Junior Prom the class really outdid itself in making striking decorations. The gym was аа to resemble an underwater scene. Donald Воуе and Shirley Weber were crowned king and had я EE we saw indeed that our narrow trail of inexperience as a class р en Sc smooth road.
