Back in 1945 our highway was only a poorly-marked trail which seemed hard to follow. How- ever, we gained confidence after a successful Junior High Play and our graduation from ninth grade. Black and gold became our class colors, and the yellow rose our official flower. After our entrance into Senior High we found that all new class projects need to be financed. We then waged a successful magazine subscription sale under the leadership of Adolph Rohl, our President. He had capable assistance from Marion Kessel, our Vice-President, Arlene Hughes, our Secretary, and Stanley Zokaitis, our Treasurer. The trail began to widen and a shining light beckoned us. Our Sophomore Hop was another milestone successfully passed. Again in our Junior year we were led by Adolph Rohl. Florence Torpy became Vice-President, Donald Bove, Treasurer, and Arlene Hughes continued as Secretary. Early in the year, after two successful roller skating parties, we discovered that our class was made up of many willing work- ers. Our class also gave a Valentine’s Dance which was reputed to be one of the best every given. For the Junior Prom the class really outdid itself in making striking decorations. The gym was аа to resemble an underwater scene. Donald Воуе and Shirley Weber were crowned king and had я EE we saw indeed that our narrow trail of inexperience as a class р en Sc smooth road. The officers elected to see us through were Don- Flierl, Treasurer. Our fall Scucci, Vice-President, Arlene Hughes, Secretary, and Florian our Senior Play, “Ghost of ae ctivities were marked by a very successful Sadie Hawkins dance and roller skating DRY S AG = а Which offered numerous thrills and chills to the audience. A est efforts, however, will Б И planned before the year closes. Our strong- spring event, the Senior Ball. The adviser was Mr. Kelleher, who did a very fine job. The Student Council sponsored many activities this year. It supported the Community Chest, Red Cross, the sale of T. B. Christmas seals, and an old clothes drive. The Council also put up posters in the cafeteria and the Senior High lavatories to keep them neat. Some of our most interesting and educational assembly programs were under the Council's sponsorship, and were financed by the sale of candy at Christmas time, as well as by the Council's Christmas Ball. As a future project, the Council hopes to start a Dramatics Club, and raise enough money to pur- chase a control that would open and close the stage curtains.
