FOREWORD In this, our 1947 Cayugan, we have tried to depict a typical school day. We wish to impress upon the minds of our read- ers that besides our formal school subjects, we have extra- curricular activities which provide both instruction, and a- musement. This combination of ,work and entertainment in school will emble us to become better American citizens and to make us more appreciative of a well-rounded life. 4

CLASS HISTORY The class of 1947 really organized ln our second year, when we put on the traditional Sophomore Hop in the gymnasium. It was during this year that we chose blue and gold as our class colors. The class flower is the yellow Rose. In our Junior year, the King and Queen for the Junior Prom were Richard Curtis and Edwine Hornung. The theme was a Rainbow Room with balloons for decorations. We had one other dance to raise funds for our class and have reached the goal that the entire class has been striving for during the past eleven years. The main events in our Senior year were the Senior Ball and Senior Play. About eighteen Sen- iors took part ln the play entitled EVERY FAMILY HAS ONE. We also had a Sadie Hawkins Dance, which featured the famous Wyoming Woodchoppers with lots of Square Dancing. The Seniors went all out to sell stationery to raise funds for the class. Our motto which is launched but not anchor- ed was selected this year. Under the capable management of Miss Cowan, our class helped to develop the Senior High Student Council. We sincerely hope that the council will re- main active in future years. It is with regret that we draw to a close our high school days.
