CHARLES HERBERT Vice-President HAROLD SIMME ' Treasurer HISTGRY Harold Simme were crowned queen and king by fellow-contestants Rita Friedl and Lester Young. A memorable event of this year was our bas- ketball victory over Depew. The nMaroon Oraclen returned after a two-year absence under the co-editorship of two juniors. Finally September 1945 rolled around, and we were seniors at last. We had arrived! We elected George Frost, president, Charles Herbert, vice-presidentg Jean Mac David, secretaryg and Harold Simme, treasurer. This autumnbroughtour unbeaten football team which tied Depew for league championship. Our senior play, uJunior-Miss,n was acclaimed by all as the best school production in years. The n0raclen returned to its original appearance under Mr. Bigelow's supervision. Our two classmates remained as co-editors. The Senior Ball was the the social event of the year. Our graduation was the climax to the busiest, happiest years we have yet known. What the future will bring, we do not know. Many of us will be inducted into the armed forces and some will go on to college. Whatever happens to us after graduation, we shall always be proud that we were members of the class of '46, Jean MacDavid George Frost Kenneth Walter . Eleanor Moore 17 in -- 3. ,W A

When we entered Lancaster High School in 1942, our country was in the throes of the world's most destructive war. Now, in 1946, there is again peaceg and as we prepare to leave high school life forever, we hope to reap our reward in a new world. As freshmen we set out to make our mark in high school life un- der the leadership of President Dick Snyder, VicehPresident Curtis Sykora, Secretary Eva Jane Van Buskirk, and Treasurer Betty Eastman. The outstanding events of this year were our Junior High School play and, of course, our graduation. - In our sophomore year we really hit our stride. We elected Joe Berent, president, Joyce Woelfle, vice-treasurer, Betty Eastman, se- cretary, and Dorothy Beam, treasurer. As a means of augmenting our slim treasury, we sold magazine subscriptions, nworking our way through high school.u Our Sophomore Hop was the supreme effort, our theme, nManhattan Medley,n aroused praise from the most critical. Our Snowball Carnival was also a Smashing success. Our junior year visibly increased the tempo of our scholastic and social activities. Our officers, Marcy Sobkiewicz, Harold Simme, Joe Schuman, and Joyce Woelfle, led us into our amazingly successful Junior Prom.
