Class ROBERT ACKMAN, President PERN SCHMAHL, Vice-president Class As we look back on the happy years that we have spent together, it is inevitable that we should find written large in our memories those events and achievements which have most memo- rably contributed to our progress as a class. In i94CP4i, as Freshmatic neophytes, we participated for the first time, in the creation of a representative form Of government, which laid a solid foundation for our subsequent years of prosperity and abundance. we chose our class colors, blue and silver, the blue of the azure skies and the silver of the lining of its clouds, and for its everlasting beauty we se- lected the crimson rose as our class flower, while with the motto, USUCCESS OUR AIMU, we early showed that confidence in our collec- tive abilities which has since so clearly vindicated itself. In 1941-42, our Sophomore year, Mrsf Shannon was ap- pointed our class adviser, and we chose as our class officers Robert Kihl, presidentg Beverly Southworth, vice-presidentg and Esther Finch, secretary-treasurer. We established our reputation for doing things thoroughly, thanks to our efficient adviser, by sponsoring a successful magazine sale and two popular dances. The juniors and seniors of that year, we ironically recall, prophesied for us a financial loss because no mere Sophomore class had ever engaged so expensive an orchestra. Their dire forebodings, however, fortunately proved groundless, for not only did we not lose money on the dance, but we realized a net profit of 51,65 for our class treasury. . 12
