As if by fate, several tests always seemed to occur about the same time, our beds were no longer used for sleep- ing, but rather for studying. Window sills and chairs held the overflow from our sag- ging bookcases. Each year found us in the labs fha iv learning new procedures. Needles, syringes, catheters, stethoscopes, and bed pans became important tools of our profession. The pursuit of learning is a continuous process. Medical knowledge and nursing experience requires perseverance.
