Take a good measure of class spirit, mix it with a more the merrfier attitude, and add a love for fun.-Top this with a dazzling pafir of blue eyes and a cheerful chuckle, and the result-Grofiie. Shirley has been a frequent committee chairman and one of the managers behind many of our social functions, to which she adds originality and zest. Since she is a lover of night life, we may find Shirley working night duty as a graduate. GroHie's one and only Ken will also testify to her love for late hours. Shirley is an out-of-doors enthusiast and plays a wicked game of baseball and basketball. Her generosity and loyalty have won her many friends. May her future years be as successful as her past three years have been. ' .airsssiwoziseui-grains as ' ELVA GROFF Groflie Quarryville R. D. 1, Pa. It Would Talk, My, How it Talked. A machine gun rapidity of speech, flashing, expressive eyes, and an intense 'interest in the news of the hospital are all typical of Elva, better known as Groflie. She is an enthusiastic spectator of al- most any sport, an avid reader of comic books, a loyal supporter of class activities and is always up to date on the latest s-ong hits-especially renditions by Guy Mitchell and Johnny Ray. ELAINE GINGRICH Elaine East Petersburg, Pa. This is the Thing I was Born to do. Shining black hair, rippling gay laughter, .and a pleasing manner-these characterize this vivacious miss. Energy makes action is proven by Elaine, for wherever she is, there is never a dull moment. On duty she uses this energy by being a conscien- tious and diligent nurse, and off duty she is usually engaged in one of her many school or :outside activities. P-ossessing a pleasing soprano voice, Elaine has sung quite a few solos in our various Glee Club concerts. With a great love for fun, she usually is in the middle of a good time, whether sit be taking a spin in her dad's car or on a blind date . We wish Elaine success as she studies for her B.S. degree. SYLVIA ANN GETZ Sibby 424 S. Fifth Avenue, Denver, Pa. From a Little Spark May BW'3t CL Mighty Flame. Preoise, peppy and meticulous, readily and ably describe Sibby. Her accent :identifies her with her home town :of Denver. Sylv1a's quick spoken deci- sions and distinctive laughter are earmarks of her unique personality. If at any time Sibby cannot be found, one need only to remember her constant craving for food-she might be at .the corner luncheonette, munching on a California burger, :or as can be seen by her over-abundant wardrobe, her love for pretty clothes takes her down town shopping. Among her hobbies, horseback. riding rates high, for she has been an enthusiastic equestrienne for a number of years. Full of fun and bursting with energy, this hard-working nurse is an asset to any ward. - ' Ei l x' 9 T' un. Q., SH wit for eye anc fur Sin Shi or for a . gen Ma thr

PATRICIA HACKMAN Pat 244 Duke St., Ephrata, Pa. I Would 'Twere Bedtime. A brown-eyed miss with that distinctive Ephrata drawl is our Pat. Pat's pastimes are Bernie, sleep- ing, Bernie, knitting, and Bernie. A most loyal foot- ball fan is Pat and a very ardent card player. She has a definite Hair for fashions. Just try out any old joke and Pat sis bound to appreciate it, though ywou may have to repeat it a few times. 1 Pediatrics and .obstetrics were two of I-Iack's favorite departments. She has a way with chiildren which explains her success as a pediatric nurse. Pat has a talent for getting things accom- plished with seemingly little effort. Her air of nonchalance hides a warm heart and a definite sense of responsibility. May her future be every- thing she wishes it to be. ANNA HABECKER Annie Washington B-oro, R. D. 1, Pa. The Longer You Know Her, the Better You like Her. Silence may be golden for some, but not for Annie , We like 'our Annie just the. way she is: 9, gal with zest for life and fun. She is a hard and diligent worker. Anna, :our tall, slender, .blonde- ha-ired lass, prefers mother's home cooking to hospital food. C-ould this be the reason she fails to gain the weight of which she dreams? Annie loves the lout-of-doors and has spent many happy hours in the good fresh air iof Wash- ington Boro, from whence she hails. With a definite mind and will of her own, she displays determined sticktuitiness. What would the class of '52 be without the gay laughter of this true-blue friend? Annie spends her spare moments chatting, reading, and confering with fellow members of 539 ron miischievious bus-iness. Her dependability and sincerity will be great attributes to her as a successful nurse. .Q 2. X . JAI a lc Till beat colc itat is v Det in 1 heai the ous her
