The reservebasketball team. which represents Ridges hopes for future champ- ionships. made a credible showing in this sport during the season of 1941--12. They won more than half of the games they participated in, and showed re- markable progress during the season. The boys are quite disappointed because the Junior High Tournament was Cancelled this year. They are looking iorvxard to positions on the varsity next year, and several show promise of becoming quite capable replacements. 30

The first game of the tournament was played by the Freshmen and Sophoniores. The Seniors were eliminated by the Juniors in the next game. The third game was between the Junior High and Sophomores. The Sophoniores and Juniors met in the final contest of the tournament. By winning this game the Juniors became the tournament champions of 1941-42. The coming of spring brought the outside activities back with hiking. jumping the rope- and, of course. softball, Last fall the girls took swimming lessons, Every Thursday for six weeks they motorcd to the Y.
