To the graduates of 1974: You are among those who will be the first to graduate from Lancaster Bible College. Our institution is more than forty years old but this is our first year with a NEW name. There is always something exciting in being a part of something that is NEW. Our life as believers in Christ began with a NEW birth by which we received NEW life and became NEW cre¬ atures in Christ Jesus. God’s mercies and compassions are NEW every morning and He has put a NEW song in our mouths, even praise unto our God. All of these NEW things are possible because we belong to and serve a Lord who has said, Behold I make all things NEW” (Revelation 21:5). While this refers to His future activity, it is also true that God can and does bring a newness and freshness to our lives every day. This is the God of whom you have been learning in your days of preparation here at LBC. May you come to know our God in an increasingly NEW and vital way in the days of service that lie before you. The most precious privilege in time and in eternity is to know Him who makes all things NEW. Rejoicing in the newness of His life, 2 1

OUR DEDICATEE As a person — warm, friendly, cheer¬ ful, buoyant, sensitive, resourceful, sociable and well-balanced; As a professor — firm, effective, understanding, stable, enjoyable and well-liked; As a professional — gifted, competent, talented, distinguished and well- accepted. A smile that reflects the loving heart of our creator; hands that are used to direct others in declaring the greatness of our God; a voice that is used to pro¬ claim the good news about our Christ; a man of vigor, a man of humor, but also, a man of God; . . . These all express the various fac¬ ets of this well-rounded person to whom the class of 1974 dedicates this yearbook — WARREN W. WHITNEY
