The department of Pastoral Studies serves to acquaint the student with the qualifica- tions and problems of the pastorate. Each student receives valuable experience in the preparation and delivery of sermons as well as instruction in the performance of pastoral duties. The minor in Pastoral Studies cov- ers the entire field of pastoral responsibility. Pastor Mark studied at Washington School ofthe Bible, Pittsburg-Xenia Theological Seminary, and Milton University. I. HERBERT KANE, Director of Missions LSB places much emphasis on the work of missions and has seen many of its students go forth to full-time missionary work in various areas of the world. Besides offering a minor in missions, the department under the direction of I. H. Kane sponsors the weekly prayer bands, chapels, and the annual missionary play. The music department seeks to help the student develop his musical proficiency in order to serve the Lord better, The course trains the student to see the relationship of music to the Word of God, and gives a foun- dation for the effective use of music in the church and on the mission field, Private lessons are also made available for all who wish to participate.
