2 QE 2,1 .4 .sg 5 542 if S F as THE LANCASTER SCH00l of the BIBLE presents the 1964-65 SEHTHUS As we approach the conclusion of our studies at Lancaster School of the Bible, we, the graduating class of l965, feel that we should gratefully dedicate our yearbook to an individual who is worthy of our genuine respect and love. Finding an individual who adequatelyfulfills the qualifications we de- cided upon was not at all difficult. We looked for an individual who loves his Lord, lives in the light of this love, humbly portrays this Godly love to his associates, and seriously presents the Word of God to us after having spent many hours in preparation for class, making our class hours well worth while. We looked for an individualwho was never too busy to happilytake time out ofa busy schedule to share our ioys and our sorrows and to offer advice. We looked for one who knew where he stood and could be dogmatic when necessary, one who was respected by men in authoritative positions, and to whom other faculty members went for assistance. More than this we looked for a person who was friendly and happy as he carried out his varied responsibilities. It would seem humanly impossible to find one person who could efficiently execute all these detailed assignments, but it really was not difficult to finda gentleman of this cal- ibre right here at Lancaster School of the Bible. We found a man who fulfilled the characteristics we have mentioned plus many more, a friend who will always be fondly re- membered in our hearts. So we, the class of l965, have gratefully decided to dedicate our i965 ICHTHUS to our friend, teacher, counselor, dogmatic and dearly beloved Dean--Thomas O. Figart. Ai . A, 5 Q Dean Thomas 0. Figart CONTENTS ADMINISTRATION STUDENTS SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS STUDENT ACTIVITIES SOCIAL LIFE SPONSORS And a book of remembrance was written before them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon His name lMalochi 3:l6J. For this purpose the yearbook staff has published the i965 ICHTHUS, that students and friends of Lancaster School of the Bible may recall God's blessings upon them during the i964-65 school year. lt is our sincere desire that as you review this publication your heart will be thrilled and blessed . May you also realize that God is using LSB to train young peoplefor the Master's service--not only in the scholastic area, but in the social and spiritual areas as well. wQ:,,.A,.A, W .. , .XM - :EM 5255.3iffiiiliilfiigiiaegik -QW Eg, , N....,,,,. ..,, .,,... LEASE Spiritual Life, Christian Evidences Church History ll Gen eral Epistles, Heresies Dear Graduates of l965: When Moses bade farewell to the Leaders of Israel just prior to his death, he reminded them of a God Who is both PREVIOUS and PRESENT. In referring to the forth-coming crossing of the Jordan, Moses stated in Deuteronomy 3l:3, The Lord thy God, he will go before thee, and he will destroy these nations from before thee, and thou shalt possess them. ln other words, God would be out ahead preparing the way before His people. But in addition to preparing the way before them, God also promised to iourney with them on the way. Moses reminded the people in Deuteronomy 3l:6, Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee: he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. ln this passage, God assures them of inner peace and stability because of His personal presence. Fear, frustration, and failure must all fade away in the victorious commanding presence of our Sovereign Saviour Jesus Christ. Be assured as you go forth that this God Who is PREVIOUS will be going before you to prepare the way for you and the same God who is PRESENT with you will prepare DB for the way He has chosen for you . Dr. Richard Seume I pastor of the lmmanuel Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia, was our Conference Speaker. The Lord most certainly chose our speaker, for many have been the testi- monials concerning the benefits derived from Dr. Seume's time here. lt was evident that his messages were, in reality, the Lord's messages, because they met our inner- most spiritual needs. I Thus, the spiritual tone for the new semester was set, and we entered heartily into another semester of study and service for the Lord. It is only in eternity that the in- tangible results of this Mid-Year Bible Conference will be fully revealed.
