Presidents Messag; LANCASTER SCHOOL OF THE BIBLE AND SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY 128-130 NORTH MULBERRY ST., LANCASTER, PA. Chriit crucified—the power and wisdom of God” P. O. BOX 247 To the Senior Class, It seems that each year in every generation presents a crisis of some kind or other. This, your year of graduation is no exception for in it there is revealed an urgent and increas¬ ing crisis in Christian work all over the world. With the uprising of the spirit of nationalism, the subtle yet sac rificial drive of Commu¬ nism, the sudden aggressiveness of opposing religions, together with the inconsistent lives of modernistic missionaries, one can readily see that we are in an urgent hour insofar as foreign missions are concerned. Nor is this spiritual crisis limited to foreign fields. Into the Christian ' s practice at home, has crept a materialistic philosophy. Affections appear to oe set on earthly rather than on heavenly things. This is evidenced by the lack of vision and funds to finance the work at home, to say nothing of the responsibility to the uttermost parts of the world. Lack of financial security is causingfewer young people to give themselves to the hard places in our own land not to mention the regions beyond. Add to this, the growing indifference to the genuine Gospel and the popularity of liberal Christianity and we can see that we, too, in this country face a serious spiritual crisis. Considering all this, one gets the sensation of a great tide about to oreak loose especially in the spiritual realm. Could it be that this is the climaxing of that great prelude to the coming of our Lord? And yet do not these very difficulties constitute our greatest challenge? Men and women of the Class of ' 55, I would remind you that you are among the called out of the called out ones. God has called you apart to prepare and train for Himself. I charge each one of you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ MAKE YOUR LIVES COUNT FOR HIM! If missionary work has been difficult heretofore, it will be increasingly difficult in the days ahead. I think of the evils of so-called civilization; the fanaticism of opposing religions; the nationals ' misassociation of the missionary with the white man ' s colonialism, and possible imprisonment resulting from invasion, revolutions, or civil wars. These, in addition to Satanic paganism and the constant battle of disease, do not picture an easy task. But with all.this seeming impossibility, is the assured presence of Omnipotence Who shall go with you and triumph through you unto all the ends of the earth. May the failure of the people of the world to meet their spiritual crisis riot De caused by our failure to deliver the remedy but rather oy their reaction to the remedy. I pray that our Lord shall find in each of you a vessel that is willing to be a drink offering (Philippians 2:17) to be poured out at His feet. Be willing to spend and be spent for the Cause of Christ, and He shall make you fruitful for His own glory. 11 Corinthians 4:15 President MAIN BUILDING SCHOOL BUILDING ; i4 f SITE OF PRINTING PHOTO LABS DM INI STRATI ON Standing: Ross Huber, James R. BOARD of TRUSTEES The Board of Trustees consists of ten persons elected by the Corporation to serve for a period of two years. The board meets regularly each month as required by the Constitution, and on many occasions two or three times a month, to carry out the business transactions of the school. Meetings continue throughout the summer months while the school is in recess. All meetings are opened with the reading of the Word of God which is followed by a season of prayer. The Trustees ask God for wisdom and the Holy Spirit to lead in every transaction. The blessing of the Lord is also sought for the students, faculty, Staff and Alumni. The duties of the Board of T ”stees are to control and to manage the affairs of the school. Some of the items this would incluaj re: The making of investments; the buying of property; care and maintenance of existing properties; appropriation of money for specific purposes; promotional work and planning of all tyoes; decisions on the number of faculty members needed; their spiritual and academic qualifications; and the rate of remuneration for their services. Major discipline problems are also handled by the board. Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. ADMINISTRATION STAFF As we look back over this year at the Lancaster School of the Bible, we are amazed how rapidly time has flown. We can with joyful hearts really say God has done great things whereof we are glad. One of the many great things He has done is the supplying of an able and conse¬ crated Administration Staff. We praise Him for those who have willingly sacrificed all in order to be of service here. Daily do we experience the manifestations of the chief desire of their hearts, that of guiding and helping us in anyway possible for His glory. This year a few additions have been made to the staff, namely, a Dean of Women, a Dean of Men, and a Director of Christian Service. We can testify to the blessing and help these three additions have been to each of us. Not only is the staff willing and able to be of help to us individually and as a group, but each member is a living testimony and a worthy example of Him we love and serve. The challenging messages and dynamic Christian life of our President, the Christian love manifested along with the discipline of our Deans, the assistance we have received from the Directors of the Department of Christian Service and Department of Missions, the friendly smile and efficiency of our Book Room Secretary, and the labour of love of our Dietician and Superintendent of Building and Ground, have all made our year a blessed one. m WILLIAM J. RANDOLPH President H. ROBERT JACKSON Dept, of Student Activity ROBERT L. LATHAM Dean of Men STELLA SISK Dean of Women ADMINISTRATION STAFF PAUL J. SEBASTIAN Dept, of Missions ARMINIA STEHMAN Book Room EMORY G. WILT Supt. of Buildings MARGUERITE WILT Dietitian mur -. ■■■■ IPfiC ' «■■■ I am thankful to God for the privilege of having a small part in the training of young people who are dedicated to the Lord and desire that men may be saved. If we are to hold forth the Word of life in the midst of a perverse generation, it is important to remember the example and principle set forth by Paul in 1 Corinthians 9:20-22, along with the necessary spiritual qualifications. CLARKE E. BURKHOLDER FACULTY Joy to the world, the Lord is come. These well known words bring to mind thoughts of song, a season of giving and receiving gifts, and of good will to men. And yet the gifts of our Heavenly Father are without season, falling upon us continually! I am thankful for the great gift of salvation through faith and the unceasing gifts of peace, strength, and joy in Christ Jesus. For He has come and is coming again: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of joy. GRACE E. DOAN If it were not for the marvelous grace of God, I may have been numbered among those who are to¬ day classed as Juvenile Delinquents. But because the Lord saved me, I know that He is willing to bring all boys and girls to a full knowledge of Christ as Saviour. What a glorious privilege it is to have a share in reaching children with the Gospel today! May the Holy Spirit make you His instrument to give the Word of Life to benighted boys and girls. E. BERYL HAMPTON In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wis¬ dom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3). The spiritual viewpoint of the true Christian is the right approach to learning. It puts everything in the correct perspective. He that is spiritualdiscerneth all things (11 Corinthians 2:15). The Christian student and the born-again teacher in a spiritual atmosphere constitute the ideal set-up for education. This situation is fulfilled at the Lancaster School of the Bible. It is a privilege to participate in the activity of such an institution. I thank God for the opportunity and responsibility of teaching young people who know and love our Lord. CLYDE HARRINGTON FACULTY Philippians 3:10-11 My great desire is to come to know Him better and better as the days go by. What a blessing it is to be able to live in the constant enjoyment of His resurrection power. Our Lord calls us into fellowship with Himself, and that fellowship includes every phase of the world ' s hostility to Him and to His doctrine. I need not deceive myself by suggesting that this is easily attained: it is a process in which only those who are actuated by deep love for Christ and who recognize and rely upon the work of the indwelling Spirit will find any joy whatever. But it is all necessary if we are to apprehend the purpose for which Christ lives for us. For this I pray daily. H. ROBERT JACKSON Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 More than ever do I feel that the above words should furnish a pattern for both teacher and student in Bible School. These are days when either ultra dispensationalism or none at all are abroad and it is a great joy to be able to teach young people in some measure how to obey Paul ' s great word to Timothy. It is with increasing joy that I purpose doing this so long as God gives me breath. OSCAR M. KRAYBILL Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain... John 15:16. Converted late in life, it is a continuous source of praise that our precious Lord called me into His service to help train the students whom He hath chosen to bring forth fruit. After serving at another Bible School for near¬ ly nine years, at a time when I would have chosen otherwise, in a truly miraculous way He again led me to continue in His service. For this high privilege, I thank my God. ROBERT LATHAM FACULTY The joy of sharing is one of the enriching experiences of the Christian life. This has been true for me in the fourteen years of teaching in the school. The joy of teaching is one of its abiding rewards. But if I have given anything of spiritual value to the students, I have received much more from them. I owe much to those who have sat in my classes. And to all the students, and the graduating class in particu¬ lar, I say sincerely Thank You for your contribution and God bless you. HARRY C. MARK The Lord Jesus, the greatest teacher of all ages, has set forth the best possible principle for teaching His Word. This He demonstrated with His disciples. He not only taught His doctrine; He lived it in their very midst. If our doctrine does nothing to our life it is hardly conceivable that we shall be able to so present it so as to constrain others to action. As teachers, our prayer is that the teaching you have received here at the Lancaster School of the Bible will have been such by both Word and deed as to cause each of you to be teachers regardless of that field unto which you are called. May your teaching by Word and deed bring forth many doers of the Word and not hearers only. WILLIAM J. RANDOLPH I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all mak¬ ing request with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Like the Apostle Paul this is my continual prayer for each of you. I trust that you will press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. God bless you richly! PAUL J. SEBASTIAN FACULTY It is my earnest desire to know Christ and the power of His resurrection according to the measure of Philippians 3:10, in order that I may be able to make Him known according to the plan in 11 Corinthians 2:4 where Paul says, my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man ' s wisdom, but in demon¬ stration of the Spirit and of power. If this twofold purpose of knowing Christ, and making Him known is imparted to the students who sit under my teaching, I shall have cause for rejoicing through all eternity. HOWARD A. As we look back over our training years here at Lancaster School of the Bible we can cer¬ tainly praise the Lord for all He has done for us. He has blessed us abundantly above all we could ask or think. The seniors are especially thankful for their senior year. We praise the Lord for the growth of our school spiritually and for the educational progress which has been made. The reality of our class motto Saved to Serve has been experienced through the many opportunities to minister for our Lord. In preaching, teaching, and music we have known the thrill of being channels through which He can speak. The blessings we have received serving Him have been innumerable. It caused us to look forward with great anticipation to what He has for us in the near future. We are confident of this very thing that He who began a good work in us will perform it to the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 I praise the Lord for saving me. I am thankful that He has called me into His service. I praise Him for the privilege of attending Bible School to learn more about Him so that I can better serve Him. I plan on going to the foreign field unless the Lord should lead elsewhere. My desire as I graduate is that my spiritual experi¬ ence maybecome richer as I see more fully God’s great Secret, Christ Himself. DEAN BARNHART Elizabethtown, Pa. Thou art the Christ the Son of God. These words used by Peter, to answer the question of Jesus concerning who He was, are the cry of my own heart. I thank God that Jesus is more to me than a wonderful person, more than a great historical figure - He is my Christ, my Saviour, my God. Since I have come to know Jesus as my Christ and personal Saviour, my life has become all joy and peace. MILLARD BEDWELL Chester, Pa. If we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that we should no longer be in bondage to sin. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body; neither present your members unto sinas instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves unto God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. Romans 6 DONALD BURKHOLDER Farmersville, Pa. After accepting Christ as my Saviour, I dedicated my life to Him. Following His leading my next step was to enter Bible School to be trained for His service. Here I have learned many precious lessons. I know not as yet in what field of service the Lord would have me but I praise Him for opening my eyes to the fields that are white unto harvest. My delight since dedicating my life to Him is to tell others of His great love. Psalms 32:8. JACQUELYN CLEMENTS Lebanon, Pa. . . My three years at L. S. B. have been the happiest years of my life. During this time I have experienced such joy, peace, and satisfaction of which I knew nothing previously. I praise the Lord for theexperiences which I have been through, for each has been for one purpose - that I might be conformed to His image. And the Lord, He it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dis¬ mayed. Deuteronomy 32:8 DELORES DIVEN Lewistown, Pa. At an early age, I received Christ as my Saviour under the ministry of the Reverend S. Elmore Byler, an alumnus of the School. Years later, I realized that He wanted me to prepare for His service. It was then that He led me to Bible School where His Word has become precious to me. My next plans are to nurses ' training in preparation for the mission field. - I have seen the vision And for self I cannot live; Life is less than worthless Till my all I give. MARION HARTENSTINE Leola, Pa. A few weeks before entering Bible School, I was saved. It was then that the Lord showed me that church membership, baptism or good works were not essential for salvation. but believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. InRomans 12:1 God says it is our reason¬ able service to give our bodies as a living sacri¬ fice. I praise the Lord for my salvation and for calling me to serve Him. I thank Him for the opportunity to study His Word in preparation for the work He has called me to do. MILDRED HESS Willow Street, Pa. I praise the Lord for the salvation which I have found in the only true and living Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Since He has taken my life and guided it, the way has been one of peace and satisfaction - a peace of heart which, apart from the Lord, no one can know, and a satisfaction which comes only from trusting in Him. The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him. Nahum 1:7 NANCY HOFFER Elizabethtown, Pa. I believe the Lord led me to Lancaster School of the Bible. I know that while in school He has spiritually strengthened me and richly supplied all my needs - physical and spiritual. Once I knew little; later, I thought there was little more to know; now I realize that to know Him is the chief aim of an education. As graduation approaches, I continue to trust Him for the future. CHARLES LAMB Lancaster, Pa. Psalms 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of Jehovah is tried; He is a shield unto all them that take refuge in Him. I thank God that ten years ago I took refuge in the blood of Jesus Christ. Since that time God has led me to Lancaster School of the Bible and has given me many opportuni¬ ties for service for Him. Jehovah is on my side; I will not fear. EUGENE LANDIS Annville, Pa. O give thanks unto the Lord for He is good. Psalms 118:9. I am truly thankful to the Lord for His goodness to me, first, that I have accepted the Lord Jesus in my heart. During my Bible School days I have come to know the Lord better. I am also thankful for the many lessons that have been taught me during these three years. With the Psalmist I can say The Lord hath done great things for us, whereof we are glad. BETTE MORROW Morton, Pa. I ' m thankful that I accepted Jesus as my personal Saviour at an early age, for He has meant so much to me through these years. Just as He has led me in the past, I know He will continue to lead in the future. My prayer is that I may be conformed to His image and His direct will may be kept always before me. One of my favorite verses is Philippians 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. JOY MUNDELL Aldan, Pa. I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me. I praise the Lord for this precious verse that has meant so much to me during my study here at L. S. B. I can truthfully say this verse has become a living reality and source of help to me. It is wonderful to know that Christ cares for each of my problems and desires to guide, help and strengthen me through everything He sends my way. As I graduate, I praise Him for the blessed time of study here and continue to rest in Him for the future. MARY NETTLES Warwick, Va. I praise the Lord first for His marvelous grace which transformed my life and made me a new creature in Christ Jesus. Then, too, I praise Him for leading me to Bible School thatT might learn more of Him. I thank Him for supplying my needs through the years I have been here. I am trusting Him for the future as I look forward to a life of service for Him. 11 Corinthians 5:17 DONALD PIERCE Oxford, Pa. Psalms 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation, to every one that believeth, to the Je y first, and also to the Greek. I just praise the Lord for these two verses, which He has given me through my scnool years, ESTHER SAPADIN Brooklyn, N. Y. My Life Chapter is the 23rd Psalm. This portion of God ' s Word is very significant to me. One day while walking through a valley of sin and lying near death, these verses of Scripture which I had memorized as a child, were opened to me and I found Christ as my Lord and Saviour. Since that time He has been my Shepherd. He has shown me no need to want. And I shall dwell in the house of Jehovah forever. KENNETH SHEARER Lancaster, Pa. I thank God that at the age of fourteen I accepted Christ as.my own personal Saviour. All through high school it was my desire to attend Bible School and prepare for His service. How thankful I am that this goal has been realized in my life. I am now looking ahead to other goals and can truly say forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13b, 14 THELMA SHULTZ Pontiac, Michigan Jesus Christ, my Saviour, has given me eternal life, because I have simply believed in Him and His death on the cross for my sins. Day-by day He imparts the character of His life as I yield to Him and recognize that I am crucified with Him; then I can say with the Apostle Paul, Christ liveth in me. OTTO STAHLE Millersville, Pa. SOPHOMORE CLASS Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God. 11 Corinthians 3:5 We sophomores are truly thankful for another year of studying the Word of God. It has been our desire that the Lord might be King of our lives and that He might lead and direct in everything we do - which is indicated by our class song Lead on O King Eternal. As a class, it is our endeavor to measure up to the theme of our class poem, Our Talents Lord are Thine, that we may go Onward ever Serving (our class motto), by giving of our time and talents in the ministering of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the surround¬ ing communities. The crimson and white of our class colors, recall to mind the finished work of Christ at Calvary for if it was not for His shed blood, there would be no remission of sins. Evening chool Looking back over the past years at Bible School, we evening school students realize how much we have received and for which we thank and praise the Lord. These four years have been a time of rich fellowship and blessing. It has not always been easy going dur¬ ing our four years of studyfor we have passed through some very difficult times. Yet we now understand that it was these difficult times that God was using to make us fit for His service. What the future holds, we do not know. But we do know Who holds the future, so we have dedicated our lives to Him, our precious Lord and Saviour. ' Twas at the old-time altar, at the age of eight, where God came into my heart. The Lord took possession and the devil did depart. Now, when Satan comes to tempt me and tries to make me doubt, I just say, My sins are gone. It was the devil that got me in trouble, but my precious Lord got me out. It was the Lord that set my feet on the Rock to stay and led me in the way I ought to go. Proverbs 3:5, 6. SENIORS Five years ago I accepted the free gift of salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. It was then I realized I was a sinner and needed a Saviour, Christ Jesus. I am thankful that I know Him and love Him and serve Him. Realizing what He has done for me, I want to serve Him. After my salvation, the Lord gave me Romans 12:1 as my life verse. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable, unto God, which is your reasonable service. RUTH BEDWELL Lancaster, Pa. Romans 12:1,2. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye rpay prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. I praise the Lord for my salvation through Christ, and for the blessings received as I walk in obedience to His Word. Praise His Name! KENNETH JURY Cochranville, Pa. I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to my teachers and spiritual advisors who have shown me real Christian love in their dealings with me. At the age of twelve, I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and later I gave my life to the Lord for His service. My testimony is For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21. AMERICO PIETROPAOLO Lancaster, Pa. The more I learn about my precious Saviour, the harder it is for me to understand why He died for a sinner like me. I truly thank Him for salvation and the privilege I have had in coming to Lancaster School of the Bible to learn how to serve Him better. A verse which expresses the desires of my heart is Psalms 11 :2 - Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. DONALD ROWE Strasburg, Pa. At the age of seventeen, I enlisted and during World War 11, served with the Fifth Marine Division overseas. With shells bursting all around my ship, I went below deck where I saw a copy of the New Testament. The first Scriptures I read in it showed me how to be saved. Right there I bowed my head and received Jesus as my personal Saviour. I was wounded and although I have lost my sight, I want to tell others about Him who died for me. That ' s why I am glad I attend Lancaster School of the Bible. MELVIN SHARP Manchester, Pa. The story of my conversion is not dramatic but it certainly is a miracle, nevertheless. I was raised in a Christian home and at nine years of age accepted Christ as my personal Saviour. Even though I had made my peace with God, I went on for sixteen years without knowing the peace of God. The Lord began to chasten me severely in the years following the war. I was leterally driven to God ' s Word and there I found His peace. Christ died for me and with His help I ' ll live for Him. LESTER WATSON, JR York, Pa. President Ralph Good was chosen leader of our class; Lester Hurst, vice-pres¬ ident; Elva Harnish, secretary; Milton Hostetter, treasurer; and Charles Duty, chap¬ lain. Praise be to our Father for leading us to Lancaster School of the Bible to prepare for future service. From each of our classes we have received a real blessing, as also from our times of devotion in Chapel. The earnest desire of our hearts is that we may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His suffer¬ ings. JUNE ADAMS Manheim, Pa. ANNA BOLTON Nine Points, Pa. ' Ichthus Staff One of the major activities of the Senior Class is that of pre¬ paring and distributing the school ' s yearly publication The Ichthus . We, the members of the 1955 Staff, are thankful for the privilege and opportunity that has been ours in the preparation of this book. Our experiences have been many and the long hours of work have caused us to say with the Apostle Paul, I can do all things through Christ which str engtheneth me. As this edition of the Ichthus is read, we purpose that it may bring honor and glory to the Lord Jesus and blessing to each reader. We would pray that through the reading of this book, God may lead some to study His Word here at L. S. B. We should like to thank each of you who have been of help and assistance to us. We are thankful, too, to you who have stood behind us with your prayers. Especially would we recognize Mr. Sebastian whose interest and help has been greatly appreciated. mvw Z % fib A 11 i L _ m 54 : DEC SUN noN SAT Charles Lamb, Betty Snyder, Milton Hicks, Mary Nettles, Jack Weisheier, Donald Pierce, Bette Morrow, James Weaver, Nancy Baker, Joy Mundell. The need of training in the compo¬ sition and technical production of effective Gospel literature has been emphasized by the fact that natives who were until recently illiterate are rapidly becoming avid readers. In Africa, the new l iterates read by firelight or candlelight anything they can get their hands on. Communists and false cults are already supplying inexpensive, yet attractive literature to the nationals. To help combat this propaganda and replace it with the true Gospel story, is the purpose of the newest missionary elective Publications for Missions . The literary and technical Know How of copy, layout, art work, photography, plate-making, off-set printing and presentation is taught in our new, modern printing and photographic laboratories. Other missionary electives include building mission compounds, field sketching, surveying, water and sewage. These and all other missionary technical electives are set in a background of thorough Bible knowledge thus fitting us to multiply the power of the Gospel as it goes to the utter¬ most parts of the earth. BUILDING MISSIONS { HAPEL HOIR The Chapel Choir, under the direction of Miss Grace Doan, has completed its fourth session of blessed ministry for our wonderful Lord. The chief desire of the thirty-seven voice choir has been to bring honor and glory to Jesus Christ. It is desired, too, that this ministry may be a blessing to each believer and a witness to the unsaved. During the course of the year the Lord has opened many doors for service. Truly this year has been a busy one. Along with singing in Youth For Christ meetings, on the weekly radiobroadcast, in morning and even¬ ing church services, and various school ban¬ quets, the choir also renders special music for school chapel periods. At the beginning of the second semes¬ ter, there was recognized a need for a smaller choral group to go out on ministries in those places where a larger group could hardly be accommodated. This need was filled by form¬ ing the organization of the Ensemble - com¬ posed of sixteen voices trained and under the direction of Miss Grace Doan. The chief aim of the Ensemble is to honor-and glorify Christ through singing, by winning souls for Him, by challenging young people for full-time service, and by edifying older Christians. The Ensemble has traveled many miles to sing and testify of their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. NSEMKLE Alright, laugh and get it over with. S i OREIGN ISSIONS The Foreign Missions Fellowship is one of the most important organizations in our school. In our training, much emphasis is placed upon missions. F. M. F. intensifies that emphasis and adds practicality to class¬ room instruction. Every student is a member of F. M. F. One chapel period each week is devoted to us as a group. Guest speakers - usually mission¬ aries in active service or on furlough - keep us informed on missionary news and develop¬ ments in the field. One period each month is devoted to prayer for missionaries in many parts of the world. Because of this program, our hearts have been moved to full surrender to His will - whether it be for service in our own country or in lands overseas. How shall they hear without a preacher ? Romans 10:14 Kenneth Dunlap, vice-president; Nancy Baker, secretary-treasurer; Jay Fulmer, president. II OUR My New Life I owe to Thee are fam¬ iliar words to those who participate in and listen to the school ' s weekly Radio Broadcast c The New Life Hour heard every Saturday night over Station WLAN, Lancaster, Penna. from 6:30 until 6:45. The program consists of challenging gospel messages delivered by the President, Dean, and Director of Christian Service. Special music is provided by the Girls ' Sex¬ tet, The New Life Hour Quartet, and the Chapel Choir, accompanied by the pianist, Miss Grace Doan. The broadcast provides a marvelous opportunity for the making of announcements of interest to listeners per¬ taining to the school. The purpose of this ministry is to bring glory to the Lord Jesus Christ and blessing to each listener. CD W HH fsd rt H-J CD S3 i NoW! To foster and enjoy Christian fellowship with one another. 2. To maintain strict adherence to the present doctrinal basis in the school and reprove in love, but with all firmness any deviation from the doctrinal basis by either a teacher or member of the Board of Trustees. 3. To definitely aid the School through the ministry of prayer and giving. 4. Mutual sharing of spiritual helps with the members of the Association. 5. To establish communication through a quarterly publication entitled, The Alumni Informer . Eligible graduates of the school are given a free membership in the Association for the first year. A membership fee of $1. 00 per year is charged in the following years. Those students who have completed only one year in Day School or two years in Evening School are eligible for membership in the Association as Associate members. They do not, however, have the voting privileges of regular members. At the close of each school year an annual meeting is held for the purpose of fellowship and business. Some members travel a long distance in order to attend these annual meetings. The officers for the following year are elected by vote. No member may serve more than one term in any office.
