The chapter feels honored to have had the president of the district for two con- secutive years. When Joyce Bear retired from presidency of Section 22, Jo Ann Prins was elected to the chair to serve until 1952. Jo Ann will be sent to East Bay Camp at Bloomington free, Where she will receive instructions as to the type of work she is to do next year. Mrs. Russell Rahn who continues to give inspiration to our chapter is our honorary member. Mrs. Earl Bear is our Chapter Mother. , Other activities were square dancing, courtesy week, the serving of the Com- mercial Club dinner honoring the F. F. A. For themselves they held a Mother-Daughter potluck supper, inviting the eighth grade girls as their guests. Miss Ella Sue Beck should be given credit for the good work of this useful organ- ization. Dur- ing the summer the fat stock and dairy teams received red ribbonsg the grain and poul- try teams, blue ribbons. The F. F. A. National Convention was attended by Lawrence Derrer, Loris Daws, Keith Kniss, and their sponsor, Mr. Brown. Our chapter was honored with a Gold Em- blem for its program of work. The chapter should be congratulated, as this was the second year for such an award. Only the top eighteen chapters in the United States can receive it. A Father-Son Banquet was held in the Home Economics Department. The guest speaker was the state president of the organization. Other activities were collecting scrap paper, sponsoring an all school roller skating party, selling hot dogs and candy bars at games, and selling Christmas cards. THIRTY-THREE
