Then came initiation. These freshmen, in their odd cos- tumes vvith gunny sacks, old stockings on their heads, and large cardboard collars as accessories, provided as much fun for one day as any three-ring circus. Margaret Stitzel was candidate for Basketball Queen. Mary Brantner was Queen of the Firemen's Ball. Student Council members elected were Velma Amling and Quentin Brown. TWENTYVONE
