DICK WILSON CENTER The game withMason was the de- ciding factor whether we would win district or not, We lost, but here are s ome of the reasons: Hetherly, our fullback, had a hurt ankleg D e nn i s, our quarterback, had a hurt kne eg Hammett had a broken fingerg McMillan hurt his shoulder early in the gameg Bris- tol tw is ted his knee. The only player able to man the quarterback slot was Davis, although he played a good game, he lacked experience. L.ancaster,a guard, was moved to the backfield and proved his worth by scoring two touchdowns on long runs. TRUMAN HUGHES BACK Mason scored twice on passes and onc e on intercepted pa s s . The Badgers were behind 1413013 late in the fourth quarter and deep in Mason territory when a despera- tion pass was intercepted and car- ried back for a touchdown. The final score was Z0 to 13. They continued their winning ways by journeying two hundred miles south and taking t h e Louise Invitational Tourna- ment anda game from El Campo on the side, The fir st East Zone Tournament at Mason fell in the hands of the Badgers. The second at San Saba was won by San Saba, The Armadillos fell easy victims in the play off earning us the right t o meet Coleman, champions of the West Zone, Coleman took the District 8-A Title after winning two of the three closely fought games.
