LAMPASAS SC ORE AGAIN The Mustangs played fair ball butwere beaten by the Badgers 18 to O. Hetherly passed to O'Ne'i,l in the f i r s t quarter for the first score. In the second quarter. Dennis passed to Payne for the second tally. The Badgers took it easy the remainder of the game, putting ona concerted drive late in the fourth quarter, Brandon scor- ing w ith thr ee minutes left. Payne intercepted a pass as the game ended. BOB ELLIOTT END V. O. MURPHY TACKLE A6151 VAN HETHERLY BACK The u.nderratedArmadillos put up a real battle andheld the Badgers to a scoreless tie. SanSaba backs broke loose twice inthe game, W T. Rush tackling one from behind in the second quarter and Hughes downing another from behind in the fourth. Lampasas fumbled away two chances to score, one on the Arm adillo one ya r d line, and one on the ben, the 'Dillos recovered both times. NOLAN PAYNE 'ss NJ, Xt, END The Badgers defeated the Temple B-Team 30 to O. The Kittens had a good,fast team and played hrrd the whole game. Eubanks , O'Neal, and Brandon scored one touchdown each. Bris- tol scored tw o, Hammett played a good game as quarterback and was outstanding as a defensive s afe ty, intercepting two passes and running back several punts. Thoyce Bland, game captain, and W. T. Rush dealt the Kitten backs lots of misery, spilling them for losses tirne and tirne again, BRANDON SCORING AGAINST TEMPLE B . 1 Fail' t PY KLINE WHITIS END Lampasas and Durneharchrivfi ls , entered the game tied for district. It ended that way also. ln the first quarter, Burnet passed to the Badger two, Payne tackling the receiver from behind. The line showed up niagnificently, holding Burnet and taking the ball over on the seven on downs. ln the fourth q ua r t e r, Hammett intercepted a Bulldog pass on the Badger 45 yard line and ran it for a touchdown which was called back because of a penalty on the play, Lampasas did not play the ir best game, while Burnet w a s keyed up. The only player able to man the quarterback slot was Davis, although he played a good game, he lacked experience. L.ancaster,a guard, was moved to the backfield and proved his worth by scoring two touchdowns on long runs. TRUMAN HUGHES BACK Mason scored twice on passes and onc e on intercepted pa s s . The Badgers were behind 1413013 late in the fourth quarter and deep in Mason territory when a despera- tion pass was intercepted and car- ried back for a touchdown. The final score was Z0 to 13. Elliott, Lancaster, Eubanks, and Rush brothers all played a good game, but the injuries proved too great. FRANK PAYNE BACK
