COMING IN FOR A TACKLE. The Badgers opened their 1947 season against the Belton Tigers with high hope s and three starters from the previous year. The game see-sawed back and forth until several good gains by O'Neil andPayne, and a touchdown pass from Heatherly to Hughes put us ahead 6 to O at the half. In the third q uar te r, Bristol broke loose but fumbled on the Belton four ya r d lineg the ball rolled over the double stripes, and when the pile was uncovered, W. T. Rush had made his first touchdown. A slight case of over- confidence, let d own s, and bad tac k lin g enabled Belton to pound three q uic k touchdowns in the last quarter.
