COUNCIL REP...Bonnie Waddell Junior Young -B f S-af T lk M l WORLD HISTORY CLASS JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY Monday, September M, 1950, ten freshmen enrolled at Lamont High School. The class officers were: Bonnie Waddell, president, Beverly Jeanneret, vice-presidentg Ione Anliker, Secretary-treasurer, Janet Ott, and Jerry Young, student council representativesg and Marjorie Schmutz, historian. Mr. T.F. Saffell was class sponsor. Friday, September Sth, the freshmen were duly initiated by the upperclassmen. The girls wore overalls backwards, and the boys were femininely attired in their mother's fashion- able frocks. That evening the Student Council gave a party for the new members of Lamont High including a weiner roast followed by a dance. In our sophomore year, the same ten students enrolled again. We sponosored a roller-skating party for the high school at Emporia. On Tuesday, September 3, 1953, the same ten students en- rolled again as juniors. They were: Nelda Storrer, Martha Marlar, Rachel McCoy, Bert Schmutz, Harold Archer, Dale Baysinger, Alden Matlock, Delbert Matlock, Walter Storrer, Bill Shaffer, James Winzeler, and Jim Fry. Class officers were: Jim Fry, president, Dale Baysinger, vice-presi- dent, Bert Schmutz, secretary-treasurer. Student council Mem- bers were Nelda Storrer and Dale Baysinger. Mr. Harry S. Mal- lard was Class Sponsor. In our Sophomore year we lost Rachel McCoy but in the meantime we gained Dotty Keith, E.L. Williams and Shirley Bryant. Mrs. Minnie Ola Jackson was our class sponsor.
