The Student Council, as the governing body of I-3mes.i High School, is an organization of sixty-three members. These members are representative of every homeroom and club in Lamesa High. To main- tain membership on the Student Council. one must have .i passing grade in every course and gi high citizen- ship grade. The council sponsors various activities which are planned to instill into each student 11 feeling of spirit and pride for the school. Decorating homeroom doors for Christmas and filling boxes with food and toys for needy families .it Thanksgiving and .it Christmas are tvvo council-sponsored activities in which every student participates. The annual Powder Bowl for the feminine grid stars and Twirp Week are designed to reverse Iife's usual procedure at Lamesa High and to give everyone a chance to see how the 'other half' lives. Aside from these activities. the Student Council also participates in community projects, in- cluding the Red Feather campaign and the March of Dimes, 'is
