Orientation Acquaints Students With Lambuth Community Orientation offered incoming freshmen and new students a view of the Lambuth community. The weekend of August 23 started with Saturday morning peer ad- vising sessions where students learned the importance of studying and attending their respective classes. Peer advisors are a group of returning Lam- buth students who offer insight and ad- vice to all new students. The peer ad- visors helped with a parents ' orienta- tion group meeting. Also included in the first day of orientation were sessions where all facets of the college experience — everything from financial aid to Greek information to religious activities — was discussed. Saturday ended with a dinner at the advisors ' homes. Sunday morning featured a worship service in which the Lambuth College Loading Zone recited poetry and spiritual readings. Although registration took up most of the remainder of the day, students still found time to trek to the home of President and Mrs. Gilmer for the traditional picnic for all new students.
