Summer Activities Vary During the summer, the pace of activities on campus slowed down, but never stopped. Even though many students went home for the summer, those who remained never had to wait too long for some type of excitement. Once again, the Lambuth Theatre promoted its successful summer pro- gram consisting of four productions. The Rainmaker and The Pajama Game were directed by Professor Jesse Byrum, whereas Professor New- ton Neely directed I Do! I Do! and The Innocents. As the summer prog- ressed, Lambuth hosted band camps and cheerleader tryouts. Also during the summer, Miss Lambuth, Jana Lee McDaniel, received the title of 2nd runner-up in the Miss Tennessee competition held in Jackson.
