In 1962 Dr. Gobbel completes 27 years as president of Methodist colleges. During his presi- dency Lambuth College has . . . . . . nearly doubled its enrollment figures . . . increased its teaching staff by one-third . . . been accredited by the Southern Associa- tion of Colleges and Secondary Schools and the University Senate of the Metho- dist Church . . . nearly doubled its campus acreage . . . increased its number of buildings from five to twelve . . . become a member of the Association of American Colleges, the National Associa- tion of Schools and Colleges of the Methodist Church, and the Tennessee Association of Colleges.
