N Co-Captains Bill Wheatley and Tommy Burse meet with the UTMB captains prior to the Eagles 74 to 73 victory over the Vols from Martin. N Heads up for that rebound! iVM3i c Big O ' s 29 points and 17 rebounds paced Lambuth as they racked Arkansas College 72 to 57. Tommy Burse drives in for a lay-up as Jack Overby looks on with amaze- ment. The strong Birmingham Southern team fell to the Eagles in over- time action, 61-58. James Hoover scores on a 15 foot jump shot as Lambuth edged Athens 84-82 in another exciting overtime period. A time-out can be a valuable weapon, especially in an overtime. Here coaches Williams and Shuttleworth engineer the Eagles ' overtime win over Southwestern, 75-74. U I '  mam mm -•;• ? In perhaps the most exciting game of the season Lynn Rickman ' s 18 points helped the Eagles to edge the Athens Bears 84-82 in a double overtime. o N Jimmy Johns was playing heads-up basketball against Florence State as he poured in 31 big points and shot an amazing 78% from the field and 100% from the charity line. George Graham as a freshman shows potential ability as a fine ballplayer in his future years at Lambuth. Little Tommy Fesmire drives down the base line for an attempted lay-up against Belhaven. Tommy scored 20 points to lead the Eagles to a one- sided Homecoming victory, 96-56. Harold Cagle, another freshman substitute, shoots a hook shot as he sees action. Harold provided the necessary bench power that the Eagles needed this season. Sensational Farris Holmes has proven himself to be one of the best freshman starters Lambuth has ever had. Here he goes in for an easy lay-up as Lambuth defeated David Lipscomb, last year ' s USAC champs, 69-62. Everyone swarms onto the floor after the game as Lambuth ' s cheerleader, Pat Steele, looks lost. N m H The man behind the team . . . Head Basketball Coach, Roscoe Williams. Coach Williams helping Tommy Teague im- prove his foul shot during practice as Jerry Rodgers looks on. Every good team needs an efficient manager and Jimmy Todd is just that. Here Jimmy is polishing the balls, one of his many tasks. !00 The future looks bright for the Eagles Left to right, STANDING: Doug Nethers, Tommy Burse, Jimmy Johns, Harold Cagle, Jack Overbey, James Hoover, Lynn Rickman, George Graham, Jerry Evans, Terry Bomar, Farris Holmes, Don DeBerry.
