CATION At His Desk . . . The 1960 LANTERN is dedicated— with much respect and admiration— to one who we feel knows of and plays a great part in the spirit of Lambuth College. In 1924 he was selected to be a member of the Lambuth faculty. Since that time, he has taken part in numerous activities and has served in various capacities of the college. He received his education from Iowa Wesleyan College, Iowa State University, and the University of Arkansas. Before coming to Lambuth he taught at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. He takes an active part in his church, where he teaches a Sunday school class. Some of his hobbies are trees, gardening, nature trails, and corn breeding. His love for nature and the out-of-doors creates a warmth and kindness in him, which is reflected in his teaching. Lambuth has profited much from his abilities and support. And in hon- or of our love for him and our gratefulness to him, we dedicate this book to ... • MR. ARTHUR D. OXLEY

TO THE MEMORY OF . . . Thomas B. Moffatt, III 1938-1959 When a young man dies, something in all of us dies with him. When he is a young man like Tommy Moffatt, the loss is even more keenly felt. Tommy was always known on the Lambuth campus as a happy boy, one who smiled often and readily; and in all his dealings, he was known to have generosity and thoughtfulness. There is a warm spot in all our hearts for Tommy, and he will be greatly missed.
