Kappa Deltas diligently practice a skit before rush week begins. Preparations for formal rush week were well underway when sorority members arrived for Fall rush workshops. After a week of skit and song practice and learning names of rushees, rush week began with a rushee convocation and open house parties for all six sororities. Aching feet, the threat of rain and temporary lack of air-conditioning were soon forgotten amid the excitement of meet- ing new people. As parties became longer in length, a more serious mood was set. Sororities and rushees alike anxiously awaited results of preference parties, and rush week ended with happy screams and tears of joy as rushees became pledges and were wel- comed by their new sisters.
